Box Compression Tester made of a set of plates one is attached to the load measuring arrangement and the other is movable plate which is move with the help of motor, gearbox, and screw and nut arrangement, the movable plate have the facility of over travel and under travel. The load measuring arrangement is digital type. The box of which the compression strength is to be determined is placed on the lower plate, due to the motion of the movable plate the box is compressed and the compression load is directly read out on the digital indicator on the panel. The deflection of the box also measured with the help of the digital deflection indicator.
The instrument is made in two parts, one is for main instrument and the other is the control panel. The ultimate test is to determining overall quality and performance of the container. Polariscope is used to view the internal material stresses and material flow characteristics of PET preforms and containers. This is ideal for laboratory use and at-the-line preform and bottle inspection
Defects in preform can be easily detected by using this equipment. When a preform is held parallel to viewing field colour pattern is seen known as isochromatic fringe. This indicates magnitude of the stresses introduced during moulding process. When a preform is held 45 deg to viewing field a coloured pattern known as isoclinic is seen, this indicates direction of stresses.
‘TBG’ Polariscope is used in the preform assembly to check the possible defect in the preforms. Take the precautions at the early stage would help a lot in cost cutting and time-saving. A defect chart is provided to understand these defects.

Method of Cutting
1) Put off Metal stopper, open handle with two hands.
2) Put preform in the cutting blade area and start pressing slowly.
3) Repeat the operation till the preform is cut.

2) The front pa rt of blade is very sharp, anyway, please do not hold that part.

Determination of effect of ageing on various physical properties of different materials may be carried out by heating the material under test inside an air oven so that the effects of long term ageing are reproduced within a much shorter duration of time for this determination, physical properties of the material under test are determined before ageing and ageing the test specimen at the specified temperature for a set duration of time and subsequent to the room temperature before conducting the tests again.
Determination of various physical characteristics of different materials and products at elevated temperature may be carried out by heating the test specimen to the appropriate temperature inside a constant temperature air oven and determining the required characteristics with the specimen kept under the same temperature. For this purpose the equipment needed for conducting the determination can either be kept inside the oven along with the test specimen, or if this is not feasible because of certain constrains, by taken the heated specimen out from the oven and conduction the test in still air within the shortest possible span of time.
Our hot air Oven has a test chamber of double walled construction. The inner walls are made of stainless steel sheet and outer walls of CRCA sheet. The space between the two walls is filled with mineral wool for insulation. The chamber is fitted with two adjustable perforated shelves for keeping the test specimen or the test equipment on.
The oven is heated electrically with the help of heaters placed in ribs on the bottom and sides of the chamber. (An air circulating fan is provided on the back of the chamber for even temperature distribution) the temperature inside the test chamber is indicated and controlled by digital temperature controller.
The chamber is provided with two ports with adjustable openings for enabling natural change of air inside it by convection. These ports can also be used for providing electrical access to the test specimen kept inside the oven, if so desired.
The compressibility of rubberized cork composition sheets is determined by finding the percentage reduction in thickness of a test specimen taken from the sheet under test under a small initial load and a large final load. The percentage recovery is determined by finding the ratio between the recovery in thickness after removal of final load and the reduction in thickness under the final load, the thickness in unloaded state being measured with only the small initial load acting on the test specimen.
The Compressibility and Recovery Tester for rubberized cork composition sheets consists of an anvil, an indenter which can be moved vertically inside a guide bush to apply the initial load on the test specimen kept on the anvil, and a lever arrangement to apply the specified final load on the test specimen.
The indenter is made from steel and has a diameter of 25 mm. It also serves to apply the initial load. A dial gauge indicator is provided to measure the thickness of the test specimen at the center of the indenter.
The major load is applied with the help of a spring dynamometer acting through a lever mechanism. The spring dynamometer is moved up with the help of screw arrangement. This movement causes the load on the lever to get transmitted to the test specimen through the indenter.
The various components of the equipment are mounted on a sturdy fabricated steel base plate. The equipment is finished in dark shore blue metallic painting and bright chrome plating to give it a corrosion resistant finish.
