Molecular Sieve Sieve 3A is an alkali alumino silicate. It is the potassium form of the molecular sieve type A and has an effective pore opening of about 3 angstroms (0.3 nm).
Typical Chemical Formula : 0.45 K2O – 0.55Na2O Al2O3 -2SiO2 - nH2O
ApplicationsMolecular Sieves 3A is commonly used for the following applications :
Type : Standard 3A Grade is also available in powder form.
Regeneration : Molecular Sieve 3A can be regenerated by evacuating or purging, usually at elevated temperatures. The purge gas temperature must be sufficiently high to bring the molecular sieve to a level of 1800C to 2500C, but not exceeding 3000C. Higher temperatures may cause physical degradation of the molecular sieve structure. When used to dry streams containing olefins, a purge at lower temperature is advised to prevent polymerization during regeneration. The degree of regeneration depends on the temperature, pressure and humidity of purge gas, and is a strong factor in affecting product purity. It is possible to dry fluids to less than 0.1 ppm H2O, if adequately regenerated.
Shipping Information : Molecular Sieve 3A Grade is available in 150 Kg Air Tight Steel Drum Sealed with inner Liner (Polyethylene bags) for Extra Protection.

Regeneration : Molecular Sieve 13X AP Grade can be regenerated by evacuating or purging, usually at elevated temperatures. The purge gas temperature must be sufficiently high to bring the molecular sieve to a level of 200oC to 300oC, but not exceeding 600oC. Higher temperatures may cause physical degradation of the molecular sieve structure. The degree of regeneration depends on the temperature, pressure and composition of the purge gas and is a strong factor in affecting product purity.
