A Pyranometer is an instrument for measuring solar radiation received from a whole hemisphere. It is suitable for measuring shortwave radiation. This instrument is used extensively in meteorological studies, passive solar system analysis, irrigation scheduling, hydrologic studies and many other environmental studies. Sensor: Calibration: 0.25 mV per W m-2, Range: 0 to 2000 W m-2, Wave Length Range: 300 to 1100 nm, Stability: 1 to 2% change over a 1 year period, Operating Temperature: - 40 to 55C, Sensor Housing: Weatherproof anodized aluminum case with acrylic diffuser and stainless steel hardware. An ideal Pyranometer measures the entire solar spectrum, 280 to 2800 nm. However, about 90% of sunlight energy is between 300 to 1100 nm.
This is a 65 lb. (29.5 kg) cable-suspended bed load sampler with 3X 3 (76 mm X 76 mm) opening and 1.4 expansion ratio. A tailfin arrangement provides flow direction orientation and sliding collar allows adjustment of balance point based on stream flow conditions. The collar is set so that the sampler will touch the water tail first to aid in rapid orientation with the streamlines of flow. This suspension attitude also insures that the sampler orifice will lift up immediately when the unit is raised from the bed to eliminate loss of sample. This sampler uses a style #3 nylon mesh sampler bag (sold separately).
Digital Evaporation recorder used for monitoring of water evaporation comes with a weather proof enclosure which contains the data logger power supply, Sensors and comes complete with a solar panel & Pan .The system is powered by two rechargeable sealed maintenance free batteries with integral solar panel, which will easily keep the batteries charged throughout the year. This Event logger connects to most standard tipping-bucket rain gauges and records rainfall times, and duration as well as momentary contact events and temperature. The system consists of a weatherproof enclosure which contains the data logger and power supply, and comes complete with a solar panel, tripod stand and Leaf Wetness, Air Temperature & Humidity sensors (One each). For the most accurate disease prediction the leaf wetness sensor, designed to mimic the surface area of a leaf, use electrical resistance to measure the level of surface moisture on foliage, whether caused by rainfall, dew, or spray. The leaf wetness sensor enables the data logger to detect the presence of surface moisture on foliage and calculate the duration of wetness. When moisture is present, the sensor detects an electrical resistance change between the gold-plated elements of the grid. The ground water sampler (Model: GWS-1) has technically been designed for the application in connection with the water level indicator. With this combination-design, it is possible to obtain liquid samples from any desired depth. Basically, the liquid sampler consists of three parts piston, tube and releasing weight. In order to get a liquid sample, the tube is hooked above the piston first and then lowered. When the desired sampling depth is reached by means of the measuring tape, the weight on top is released, which slides downwards along the cable to the top of the tube. Here, the closing mechanism is activated and the tube is supporting drum and the liquid withdrawn by the watched faucet. With 2 tube diameter (capacity 0.45 liters; dimension: 49mm x 1750 mm).

Micro controller based Automatic Wind Monitor reflect state of the art in micro controller based instrumentation design. The sampler has advantages, of low cost, simplicity in design and operation.

The instrument uses a spherical-shaped reflector mirror engraved with a cross-shaped grid of 24 quarter inch squares. To take readings, hold the instrument level, 12" to 18" in front of body and at elbow height. Assume four equi-spaced dots in each square of the grid and systematically count the dots equivalent to quarter-square openings. Multiply the total count by 1.04 to obtain percent of overhead area not occupied by canopy. The difference between this and 100 is an estimation of overstory density in percent.
