The Sensors for each application are of different types with option to choose as per requirement
For a Dam Lake level indication and control :-
Float and counter weight :
Stainless Steel Float and Counter Weight with Nylon Rope and Aluminum Pulley are used.
The float is suspended in the gauge well and it follows the changes of waterlevel, which in turns moves the alluminium pulley.The Aluminum Pulley is mounted on heavy duty shaft rotatingin sealed Ball Bearings. At the other end of the shaft , sensor is mounted which converts the rotational movements into signals, which are processed into Receiver cum Converter and transmitted to a Digital Level Indicator.
It gives reading proportional to the level even if there is no power as it is backed up by battery supply.
If control is required to fill the lake at the desired level the signals are transmitted to the Controlling Equipment Panel. This panel processes the signals and opens or closes the outlet Gates as necessary.
Stainless Steel Diaphragm Type :
The Water level creates pressures proportional to the level on one side of the diaphragm and generates the signals. These signals are transmitted to the receiver cum converter by wires where they are processed and fed to the Level indicator and if required to the Controlling Equipment. The Diaphragm is sealed and water tight enclosed in SS enclosure which is suspended or fitted at the bottom of the lake.
Encoder Type Level Reading Instrument:
In this type incremental signals created positive for increasing levels and negative for the decreasing levels. By the rotation movement created in the shaft. These signals are sent to the Receiver cum converter where they are processed and transmitted to the level reading instrument. The reading can be in Cms. or in mm with accuracy of+3 units for a level change of 100 Mtrs.
Ultrasonic Ray Type Sensor:
The rays are directed from top of the Dam bridge, which when reflected by the water surface, is received. The time difference between transmission and receiving of the waves is calculated and based on that level is computed. These signals are fed to the Level Reading Instrument.
Display:
The Water Level is Displayed on Digital Display or can be Logged in Computer or Printer & Can be Transmitted Through Fiber Optic Cable or through wireless network to Remote Site. GSM Interface Facilitate trasmission to any where in the world Display and Information.

To overcome various problems and to increase the reliability, VIDYUT dial Indicators have the following unique features: The input shaft of the Dial Indicator is of 19 mm with support of 2 nos. sealed ball bearings. The mounting accuracy and centrality is maintained by special double holding Bracket which holds the gear shaft on one side and bearing shaft on other side. The Dial and hands are made from Aluminum and painted with Epoxy Paint baked at 200C so that it is not affected by the weather. The scale markings are screen printed with scratchproof ink or engraved. The dial can be marked in Radial or Vertical opening for Radial gates. The movement of the Pointer is generally clockwise. However, to match with the movement of the gate shaft, clockwise and anti-clockwise movement of the input shaft can be selected at site. The gears of the Dial Indictor are made of brass mounted on the accurately drilled brass plates with brass output shaft. Screws and Nuts used for the fittings inside and the Dial Indicator are of Stainless Steel. The Limit Switches provided are of NON-CONTACT Electronic type totally sealed weather proof switches. As there is no physical contact like Cams, etc. and no mechanical force required to operate the limit switches, the operation is very smooth and accurate. The limit switches being totally sealed, the question of vermines and insects going in and jamming the contacts is not possible. The Limit Switches are set from the front with the screw driver arrangement so that setting procedure is very easy and Limit Switch can be accurately set as required. The Dial Indicator is provided with Siemens type locks and provision is also there for putting a padlock.

VIDYUT'STANKATROLseriesof Levels Control for tanks are the only type manufactured in India at present which provides high frequency AC for the signal by impendence matching.
The system is very efficient and has premium advantage that the probes are not itched or corroded at all. Thus no maintenance is required and the life of the unit is very long. A special control is also provided such that if the motor is started but the flow is not there after 30-60sec., the pump will stop automatically which will prevent dry running of the pump and motor burning thereby. A further specialty of TANKATROL units is that level indications in the top and bottom tank can also be given optional so the operator knows how much water is there in both the tanks and he has got a control to set i.e. level he wants to start or stop the pump. This is useful when from top tank every time.
