Principal of operation

Drying Cycle : Moist air from the compressor is sent through the coalescing filter. Here water & oil coalesces, gets purged through the auto drain valve.

The relatively clean air with water vapour passes through the aluminum drying tower filled with desiccant gets completely dried (upto 40 c dew point) and then passes through a built in after filter. The desiccant fines from the towers are completely removed and clean dry air is let out through the outlet port for use.

Regeneration cycle :During the regeneration cycle. The sudden depressurization brings out water molecules trapped in the Desiccant pores to the surface of the beads. A small portion dry compressed air from the drying TOWER then passes over the desiccant through the regeneration orifice built in the Top Block. This results in complete regeneration of the Desiccant.

Dryspell Medical Dryers

Dryspell medical dryers delivers a dewpoint of +2C as mandated by NFPA 99. The dryspell medical dryers operates with the principle of pressure Swing Adsorption, hence removes more moisture than a refrigeration air dryers, and it delivers moisture than a refrigeration air dryers, and it delivers moisture free dry air consistently irrespective of flow variation.
Based on medical application criticality, the package comes with one working and one stand by dryers. So there is no need to stop the air dryers for maintenance. Optional purge saving system saves purge air upto 60% for a typical hospital load of 30% to 40%. Optional dewpoint and Co monitor enables to monitor dewpoint and Co levels as mandated by NFPA 99.

OperationThe Blower Heat Reactivated Dryer works on the principle Thermal swing. The desiccant adsorbs moisture from the compressed air to deliver dry air. The desiccant bed saturates over a period of time. The saturated bed is regenerated by heating with hot air generated using a blower. Hence the dryer is called blower heat reactivated desiccant dryer. Since the temperature of the bed swings between the compressed air temperature and the regeneration temperature it is called Thermal swing type. The hot air from the blower passed through a heater. This makes the air very dry. The hot air then heats up the desiccant bed. When the bed is heated it gives up the moisture adsorbed and is ready for adsorption. The hot air carries this moisture to the atmosphere. After the regeneration, heated desiccant bed is cooled by the flow of air to suit the application conditions. Final Cooling is achieved by a no loss compressed air cooling method, resulting in a no Dewpoint spike system. Trident dryer comes with a dewpoint based control system as a standard. The tower changeover takes place only when the bed is saturated, resulting in energy saving and extended life. The dryer with its control valves and controller manages the drying, regeneration and repressurisation of the desiccant columns automatically and thereby delivering continuous dry compressed air.
Blower Heat Reactivated Dryers are best suited for applications requiring large volume of compressed air at low dewpoint. For the above conditions the dryer works out very economical energy wise. Trident blower heat reactivated dryers are built from the start for customization. Since the air volume is large cusomisation delivers substantial energy savings.
