Principle of operation

UTPSPL Triplex Plunger pumps - designed to withstand continuous duty operations & guarantees smooth and trouble free performance.

The pump can be driven by TEFC Non flame proof / Flame Proof electric motor with Star Delta / DOL Starter , also offered with Soft Starter / VVVF Drive / Flame Proof Panel .Pump with Diesel Engine , manufactured as per requirement.

Compact Design , rugged construction pump with quitter operation.

Variation in flow & pressure possible by simple change of conversion kit.

Pump being manufactured on Base Frame with anti vibrationpads also mounted on Solid Wheel / Pneumatic wheel trolley for easy movement.

Pump Head

The forged stainless steel SS-410/SS-420/SS-431/SS-304/SS-316 pump-head , duly Ultrasonically tested, accurately machined on CNC machines is suitable for safe operation . For special application other materials such as nickel plated steel are also available.

Three type of Fluid end are being used for different pressure range .

The Flat Head A-Type , being used for High Pressure ( up to 1500 bar ) Low discharge , used for high pressure water jet cleaning / cutting for sticky scale , concrete cutting etc

The step shaped pump head , being used for Medium Pressure ( approx. 500 bar ) Medium Flow , allows direct access to identical & interchangeable suction & discharge valves without having to disconnect suction or discharge piping.

The Flat Head C-Type / M-Type pump head , being used for Low Pressure ( approx. 300 bar ) High Flow , allows direct access to identical & interchangeable suction & discharge valves , to meet customer requirement.

Crank Shaft

The forged alloy steel , duly ultrasonically tested , machined with accuracy , supported by heavy cylindrical roller bearing and driven by means of Built in Helical gears & pinion shaft drive with Herring bone Gear arrangement.

Crank Shaft driven with Pulley & Belt arrangement & with external gear box can be supplied.

The Ductile Iron Connecting links have replaceable steel backed Bi-metallic bearing.

Lubrication - Offered with splash lubrication and also for Forced Lubrication , using oil cooler , shaft mounted or separate motor mounted oil pump . Forced lubrication pumps used for continuous duty application

Plungers & Packing's

Plunger are made of Solid oxide ceramic with smooth surface finish , next to diamond in terms of hardness , high quality of surface texture & geometry, improve Plunger & Seal Life. High Pressure Seal made of Armide Teflon packing seals having no wear sensitive lips, thus ensuring long working life under highest continuous pressures. Carbide , Stainless steel plungers with Chrome Plated , Chevron Seal can also be can be provided if desired.

Valve & Valve Seats

Valve & Valve Seats are made from special high strength material ensure long life. Stainless steel with hard coating , can also be offered , as per requirement.

Pressure Regulator

Pressure Regulator is Flange mounted and provides step less adjustment of the operating pressure from 0 to maximum desired operating pressure. A glycerine damped pressure gauge indicates the working pressure of the pump. A separate safety valve prevents overloading.

Twin Screw Pumps

twin screw pumps are self-priming, double ended positive displacement pumps with external timing gears and bearings. Their design provides complete axial balancing of the rotating elements and eliminates all metal-to-metal contact within the pump, making them suitable for dry running.in addition with extremely low npsh requirement they are ideally suited for decanting applications.

principle of operation

twin screw pumps consist of one set of shafts-one driving and one driven with two screws mounted and keyed onto each shaft.the liquid entering the pump is divided into two parts each part going to outer end of screws.

as as the screws rotate, cavities are formed between the individual screw. These hold a given volume of fluid, moving it axially as the screws rotate. The portion of the fluid that entered the pump and was diverted to the left is then moved by this movement convey from left to center. The portion of fluid diverted to the right is moved from right to center. At the center the two flow paths rejoin and leave the pump through the discharge flange.

the screws do not mesh with each other.the drive to driven screw is transmitted by means of timing gears.this feature makes them ideally suited for dry running application for sometime. With special profile of screws, pumps have extremely low npsh requirement making them ideally suited for decanting applications.
