Hoisting plugs are used when making up or breaking out the string and have drill rod thread connection at the bottom. Hoisting plugs are manufactured from alloy steel and are available in all sizes. Hoisting plugs are available in plain and bearing type for easier rotation. Hoisting Plugs are with AW drill rod / BW drill rod / NW drill rod connections.

Light duty hoisting plug and medium duty hoisting plugs are manufactured for geotechnical investigation, soil investigation and heavy duty hoisting plugs are manufactured for mineral exploration.

Hoisting plugs are also known as pulling plug / lifting bail.

Wireline Core Drilling is a faster process of recovering the core. It eliminates the time consuming process of retrieving the core barrel every time it is full of core. Instead core laden inner tube is retrieved with the help of overshot assembly, while the complete drill string remains inside the hole. Wireline Drill Rods are only pulled out on completion of the bore hole or for replacing the diamond core bit or replacing the reaming shell.

It is extremely advantageous to use Wireline Core Drilling in softer formations and deep mineral exploration.

Double tube core barrels are hard chrome plated on both the ends of the outer tube upto a length of approx 15inches.

UEW manufacture the following double tube core barrel in length of 6mtrs, 3mtrs, 1.5mtrs:

UEW high pressure triplex pump is a compact pumping unit, suitable for diamond drilling, mineral exploration, geotechnical investigation, soil investigation etc and a number of other applications.

Both prime mover (diesel engine or electric motor) and triplex pump are mounted on the steel skid base. Triplex pump have three cylinder fluid end with replaceable hard chrome plated lined cylinders, steel valve and ball valves. All moving parts are completely enclosed in an oil tight case and run in an oil bath. Triplex pumps are equipped with pressure gauge, relief valve, suction and delivery fittings.

Triplex pumps can handle clear water or light drilling mud and are available with direct transmission through clutch or ‘V’ belts or can by a clutch.

UEW does not manufacture but supply Heavy Duty rugged 18", 24", 36", 48"RIDGID Pipe Wrench and Heavy duty RIDGID Chain Wrenches for diamond core drilling , water well drilling, tubewell drilling etc.

Spares like heel jaws and hook jaws are also provided.

UEW can supply Indian make as well as RIDGID-USA Make Heavy Duty Pipe wrenches and Heavy Duty Chain Wrenches.

Situated just above the diamond core bit, reaming shell maintains the outside diameter of the drill hole.

Diamond Reaming Shell connects the diamond core bit with core barrel. Since its slightly more in outside diameter than the core bit, reaming shell does job of reaming the hole.

Drilling crew should constantly check the outside diameter of the reaming shell as less diameter of reaming shell or a worn out reaming shell will result in stuck bit and drill string.

Wireline Reaming Shells are provide with TC inserts (Tungsten Carbide).

Reaming Shells are set with fully processed natural diamonds. Synthetic diamond (impregnated type) reaming shells are also manufactured.

While conducting soil investigation or geotechnical test, contractors require Automatic Trip Hammer / Free Fall Hammer to conduct the SPT (Standard Penetration Test).

This automatic trip hammer is designed to push or hammer the Split Spoon Sampler with a standard weight of 63.5 Kg with exact length of 75cm fall.

Automatic trip hammer eliminates the human error of measurement and lifting the weight and then dropping on split tube sampler.

Test Procedure as described in the British Standard BS EN ISO 22476-3 , ASTM D 1586 and IS 2131

Hammer is generally provided with AW box thread to carry out SPT test with standard AW drill rod as per BS 1377.

UEW manufacture Split Spoon Sampler or Split Tube Sampler also.

Subs or Adoptors are used as connectors or coupling to connect drill rods, core barrels, casing, rock bits, water swivel, hoisting plug, fishing tools etc. that have different size or type of threads.

All female ends are called "Box" and male ends are called "Pin". All subs are manufactured with right hand thread connections unless the purchaser specifies left hand.

UEW manufacture all type subs or adoptor as per customer requirements / drawings.

Triple Tube Core Barrel is used for exploration of dams, bridges, geotechnical investigation, diamond core drilling, soil investigation, testing of foundation of the high rise buildings as well as mineral exploration for obtaining nearly 100% core recovery.

After the triple tube barrel has been retrieved from the drill hole the reaming shell, diamond core bit and core lifter case are removed. Air or water is pumped in the head and the third tube / split tube comes out with the help of a piston arrangement. The upper half of the split tube is then lifted thus revealing the core in undisturbed condition.

Wireline Overshot compliments a Wireline Core Barrel.

Once core sample is filled inside the inner tube of a wireline core barrel, overshot is released from the top.

Wireline Overshot Assembly slides inside the wireline drill rods. Lifting dogs of the overshot locks the spear head of the core barrel. Overshot along with inner tube is pulled out with steel wire rope.

UEW manufactures Augers of various sizes ranging from 3" to 36". Satndard flight of auger is 1 meter. Length of flight can be manufactured as per specific demand of customer.

Water Swivel serve as a connection between triplex pump and the rotating string of drill rod through a high pressure hose. These are designed for either underground drilling or surface drilling at high speed. Water swivels are available in plain type and bearing type for easier rotation. These are manufactured in all sizes for use in mud or clear water. Universal Engineering Works manufacture water swivel with three different capacities i.e. Light Duty, Medium Duty and Heavy Duty.

Light duty water swivel and Medium duty water swivels are generally used for shallow core drilling for geotechnical drilling, soil investigation and heavy duty water swivels are primarily used for deep hole drilling for mineral exploration, mining, diamond core drilling etc.

UEW usually maintains in stock the following used products. Following triplex pumps and drilling rigs are usually refurbished or can also be offered without repairs on as is where is basis. FMC 1120 pumps (2nos in stock): These are practically brand new pumps but in used conditions.

We are offering fishing tool.The function of the core lifter or core catcher is to hold the core inside the barrel and to retain it through wedge action. Universal engineering works, core lifters are manufactured from spring steel properly hardened to give extra spring action for longer life.

Split Tube Sampler or Split Spoon Sampler is designed to take undisturbed soil samples using the drive weight method as per BS 1377. The split tube section is held together with a ball check valve head and a heat treated drive shoe.

We offer Foot Clamp. When making or breaking a long string of drill rods, the safety foot clamp holds the string concentric and prevents it from dropping down the hole. Drill string is hoisted or lowered and the foot clamp takes a grip just below the first joint to allow removal of a drill rod, or near the top end of the string to permit addition of a drill rod.
