Working of Reverse Osmosis Plant

• The raw water I flown through the membrane by applying pressure
• Small percentage of the feed water permeates the membrane
• The balance portion of water moves alongside the membrane without being filtered
• The stream which permeates through the membrane is the permeate
• Second stream of water is called the concentrate because it carries the concentrated salts
• Contaminants doesnt permeate through or rejected through the membrane
• Two streams of liquid flow side by side to each other
• The process is also called cross flow filtration process

This Water Softening Plant is widely acknowledged for having a strong acid Cation exchange resin in Sodium form which is effective in softening the water. Our Water Softening Plant completely removes hardness from the water and makes it soft in nature. This Water Softening Plant has the exhausted resin and regenerates with brine solution (Sodium Chloride) 10 % or 15%, which is passed from the bottom of the resin and service flow is from the top, then it is known as Up flow softener. Working of a Water Softening Plant

• Calcium And Magnesium ions are replaced with sodium ions
• Sodium does not rash out in pipes, problems of hard water is eliminated
• For ion replacement, water in the house passes through a bed of ion exchange resin
• Resins are covered with sodium ions and the water flows past the sodium ions
• They swap places with the calcium and magnesium ions
• Resin contains nothing but calcium and magnesium and no sodium
• They stop softening the water and takes time to regenerate the ion exchange resin
• Regeneration follows soaking the resin in area of sodium ions
• Water softener mixes up a strong brine solution, as Salt is sodium chloride and gets in through the resin bed
• Strong brine displaces calcium and magnesium built up in the resin
• Replaces it again with sodium
• Left brine plus & all of the calcium and magnesium is flush out through a drainpipe
