This is used for cutting conical shaped sample taken from molten metal for Spectrographic Analysis. This is a machine where small runner risers or investment casting components (upto10-12 mm thickness can be cut. The job is held by hand on the support of the table and moved towards the wheel where the cutting of the desired area takes place.

This is used in a production set up for cutting bigger diameter jobs, i.e. finished samples such as sections, rounds, square forgings etc. of ferrous material. Faster cutting due to less arc of contact between wheel and job due to oscillation of the cutting head.

The speciality of the machine is that there are two nos. Alundum discs – one with coarse polishing paper for removing the pittings etc. and other with fine polishing paper for smooth polishing suitable for Spectro-samples.
