More About Information for Hysteresis BrakesHysteresis Brakes are frictionless, electromagnetic brakes. Hysteresis Brakes produce torque strictly through a magnetic air gap without the use of magnetic particles or friction components. This method of braking provides far superior operating characteristics: smoother torque, high degree of controllability, superior repeatability, long operation life as well as less maintenance and down time. These make them the preferred choice for precise tension control during the processing of nearlyany material, web or strand.

Advantages

• Fast response : The torque of HB series electromagnetic hysteresis brakes is independent of slip speed. Torque is directly proportionate to coil current, thus the torque of each unit can be adjusted by varying the current. Once the current is stable, the torque remains constant.

• Smooth operation : The HB series does not utilize mechanical friction; therefore operation is smooth at any slip speed.

The MET-CTK Series is a combinations of a CTK controller and hysteresis brake the closed loop monitoring and compensation system of the CTK controller allows this tensioner to have a quick response based on the preset tension values and real time winding conditon.
It is easy to preset and adjust while still providing precise tension.
Suitable for applications such as motor stator/rotor coil winding, and special coils of uneven winding shape.

The tension of the MET Tensioner is generated using hysteresis brakes and built-in control circuit. Its tensioning mechanism runs without any mechanical contact, resulting in minimal friction from the connecting bearing. All MET tensioner come with a "Auto Fine Tuning Circuit" which fine-tunes the tension by sensing the tension arm's movement. CTK Controllers are closed-loop tension measurement and control instruments, designed to be used with a hysteresis brake or to act as a monitoring tension meter.
The PLC control closed-loop type allows for interfacing with PLC and providing required current to the hystresis brake.
Closed-loop type-this model measures and displays real-time running tension, while simultaneously comparing it to the preset tension values. Its built-in software compensates output current to the hysteresis break accordingly for precise, stable and consistent tension.
Stand-Alone type - this model does not provide curent output. They are used to measure and display real time tension. It also alerts (Output alarm) the user when tension is detected to be out of preset range (the upper and lower tension limits can be preset.)

Besides monitoring and displaying real-time tension, TD-EX1000-01A also does tension data acquistions via PC*.
