The Bombay Textile Research Association (BTRA) is a premier textile research institute providing testing, research, training and consultancy services.

BTRA carries out research on frontier technologies such as Plasma Application to Textiles, Conductive Textiles, Technical Textiles (such as Filters, Waddings, nonwovens, etc.), Geotextiles and Microbial Textiles.

BTRA has modern product development facilities and testing and measuring instruments. BTRA has special testing facilities for technical textiles, Geotech segment, microbiology, eco-parameters, polymers, garments and flammability. It is accredited as per ISO 17025:2005 laboratory standards. Also, the Geotextiles test lab is accredited by Geosynthetic Institute, USA as per GAI-LAP scheme.

US Consumer Products Safety Commission, USA recognized BTRA for conducting certain special type of tests. Testing at BTRA is performed as per latest international and national standard test methods.

Others : Testing at BTRA is performed as per latest international and national standard test methods and BTRA is a regular participant of various proficiency testing programmes conducted by International agencies such as ASTM International, AATCC, ICAC, etc.
