Welcome to Tantuja
The West Bengal State Handloom Weavers Co-operative Society limited” (Tantuja) was established in 1954 by the then Chief Minister of West Bengal Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy to save the weavers from economic hardships and exploitation. Tantuja soon became an umbrella for all the weavers in Bengal who were in dire strait and needed some help from the Government so that they can survive with dignity. The devotion and zeal of the weavers and dedication of the Tantuja staff helped it grow manifold. Today, Tantuja is not only a household name in Bengal but its products are well appreciated in all over India and abroad. Tantuja is famous for its exclusive designs and quality of its products, mainly cotton sarees/silk sarees, and also it has an enviable collection of Cotton shirt, Salwar, Stoles, Dhuti etc. Tantuja has more or less one hundred retail outlets throughout the country.
