Surface International has developed state of the art Dry and Wet Blasting Machine used to provide micro roughness on external diameter of piston rings of two wheeler and four wheelers. This controlled roughness is required to achieve adequate roughness before chrome plating or moly spray. The credit of achieving non peelable coating rests on the surface preparation. The machine entails a substantially built blast cabinet suitably reinforced & rubber lined to retard wear. A variable AC drive controlled nozzle reciprocation system is placed on the roof of the machine with four number suction blast gun strategically positioned on a jig to ensure uniform coverage of the blasting stream on the mandrel holding piston rings. The piston rings are stacked in two tiers to achieve higher output. This mandrel is mounted on a variable speed turn table & clamped by a pneumatically operated revolving center positioned on the roof of the blast cabinet. A pleated bag dust collector to remove the dust generated during blasting and an abrasive recovery system to recycle the used abrasives after segregating the usable abrasives from non-usable abrasives is standard supply with the machine. The control of the machine is through a cubical panel with all low voltage switchgears, VAC, PLC and touch screen HMI from International Reputed Brands. Sequence of operation of all motors, solenoid valves etc. are depicted on the touch screen panel. The machine is menu driven. Faults if any are visible on the touch screen. To make the machine more user friendly each blast gun is fitted with a flow control valve which gives an alarm if any nozzle is chocked. A temperature controlled heating coil is provided in the storage hopper to avoid coagulation of the abrasive media due to moisture in the air. Any drop in the level of abrasives in the storage hopper below the defined level is indicated by an alarm. External Blasting MachineThis machine is designed to carry out blasting on external surface of cylindrical surfaces. The component could be a cylinder or a bomb shell having a diameter of 400 /500 mm and length of 1800 mm. The machine consists of a substantially built blast cabinet with one pair of fixed rolling wheels and a pair of adjustable rolling wheels. The pair of fixed wheels are driven by a geared motor and the pair of adjustable roller wheels can be adjusted to accommodate different length of cylinder or bomb shell. An air operated abrasive recovery system is provided for recirculation of the spent abrasives from the hopper of the blast cabinet to the storage hopper after removal of the fine dust and broken shots. The dust is collected in the dust collector bags keeping the environment clean and green. Once the cycle is completed the blast generator is de-pressurized and the abrasives from the storage tank are fed into the blast generator. The component is placed on the rotating device by opening the pneumatic door assembly of the blast cabinet by the push button provided on control panel. The door is closed before starting the blasting operation to provide safety to the operator. The blasting is started and the blast nozzle is reciprocated horizontally against the diameter of the bomb shell longitudinally to thoroughly blast clean the entire external surface. This longitudinal movement of the nozzle is provided with a variable AC Drive to vary the longitudinal nozzle movement speed and attain the desired level of cleaning. The reciprocation movement is controlled with the help of a limit switch which is set as per the bomb shell length. The machine is provided with vision glass windows and metal halide lamps for complete look of the component during blasting. The interior of the blast cabinet is lined with wear resistant rubber sheet for long life. The machine is provided with a TC lined convergent divergent blast nozzle of 10 mm ID which gives a cleaning rate of 15 square meters per hour with consumption of 250 cfm of compressed air. Internal blasting machineThis machine is designed to carry out blasting on internal surface of cylindrical components. The component could be a cylinder or a Bomb Shell having a diameter of 400 /500 mm and length of 1800 mm. The components are placed on a swing table on a fixture in vertical position so that the axis of rotation of the table meets with the axis of rotation of the component. This swing table is driven by a geared motor mounted on the external side of the door through a flat belt. The drive to the motor is through a Variable AC drive. The machine has a substantially  built blast cabinet lined with abrasion resistant rubber sheet all around, the area which comes in the direct blast zone is lined with work hardening grade Mn steel sheets to provide long life to the blast cabinet against erosion. The abrasives after internal blasting of the bomb shell gravitates down in the hopper of the machine through the bottom hole of the component and falls into the screw conveyor provided at the bottom of the blast cabinet. The screw conveyor conveys the abrasives in the bucket elevator boot from where the abrasives are picked up by the rubber belt fitted with buckets. These buckets when returns down from the top pulley leaves the abrasive in the separator of the machine which separates out the broken abrasives from the usable abrasives by means of air currents drawn through the falling abrasives in the form of a curtain thereby separating the usable abrasive media from the fine and non-usable abrasive media. The usable media is stored into the storage hopper whereas the broken abrasives are rejected from the system through a refuse pipe. The abrasive media slides into the blast generator from the storage hopper once the blast generator is depressurized. The blast generator is made and tested as per pressure vessel norms and is of twelve cubic feet capacity and can accommodate 1.2 tons of abrasive media at a time. A dump valve is provided on the top side of the blast generator which isolates and seals the blast generator from the storage hopper no sooner the solenoid valve of the dump valve is actuated and the high pressure air is allowed to enter the dump valve. The high pressure air is then permitted to enter the blast generator pressurizing the abrasive media in it. The bottom side of the blast generator is fitted with two Thomson valve which permit regulated abrasive flow from the blast generator to the blast hose from where this abrasive is carried away to the blast nozzle at high velocity by the compressed air. Especially designed two number angular CD Tungsten Carbide nozzles with +/- 40 degree angle are provided to achieve perfect cleaning and roughness in the cylindrical area as well as the lower and top curved contures. The two nozzles are connected with the Thomson valves by means of abrasive resistant grit blasting hose pipes. Reciprocating arrangement for these two nozzles is provided in the vertical plane by means of a servo drive which is programmed to reciprocate with in the preset limits once the bomb shell/ cylinder is selected on the HMI. The reciprocation stroke is 2000 mm. The reciprocation is so programmed that the non-blasting strokes are covered at 15 times the speed defined for blasting operation to save unproductive time.The machine is provided with a high efficiency cartridge type dust collector with emission levels below 5 microns particle size. This dust collector sucks the dust from the blast cabinet during blasting operation and also support in effectively separating the usable and non-usable abrasives at the separator thus keeping the environment clean and healthy. The machine is provided with IP-54 protection Rittal make control Panel fitted with S-200 series Siemens PLC and colored touch screen HMI. The program is menu selection type. The operator has to select the size of the bomb shell or cylinder. All parameters get automatically selected by the PLC and the machine runs as per the sequence of operation and time fed during programming. The machine is designed with all safety norms in mind. Blasting will not start unless the door is closed. The door will get locked no-sooner the cycle starts. This also prevents from un-locking of the door unless the cycle is completed. The machine is able to achieve Ra values from 11 to 16 microns depending upon the hardness of the bomb shell cylinder.

Machine is equipped with Magna valve to control the shot flow rate. The machine has an intelligent PLC controlling system where the Shot flow rate of each Blast Wheel is permitted in a given band width. Alarms are generated if shot flow rate is less or more than the pre-set limits. The Shot Peening Machine is programmed for recipe. Just select the recipe No. and all set parameters like BW Speed, Hanger rpm Peening Time will be automatically selected by the PLC. A touch Screen user friendly HMI is provided with the machine to display various parameters and operation being run on the machine.

Operating PrinciplesThe machine is equipped with table fitted on door ,  the turn table system is driven by gear motor outside the enclosures. The spent abrasive from the blasting operation passes through the perforated floor plates and gravitate down the cabinet hopper into a screw conveyors. The abrasive is then transferred to the boot of the bucket elevator. The bucket elevator carries the abrasive vertically and discharges the same into a rotary screen separator where dust and fine abrasives are air cleaned ensuring that only clean abrasive is collected in the storage hopper for re-circulation purpose. An effective Dust Collector unit keeps the system clean of dust. The machine has different specifications and variants, the end user can choose one which fits to his choice the most. The specifications are as follows : Sizes : 750 mm¸ 900 mm, 1200 mm, ¸1800 mm & 2400 diameter to meet varied industrial needs.
SURFACE International Grout Pumps consists of positive displacement type of powerful pump of suitable capacity. The pump is coupled with geared motor. The inlet of the pump is connected through Hose Pipe to the outlet of twin grout mix preparation tank. At the outlet of the pipe a by-pass arrangement is provided for regulating pressure and volume of grout mix. The grouting hose pipe of required size is connected through quick action coupling at the outlet of the pump. The other end of grout hose is coupled with grouting nozzle. A pressure gauge is provided at the outlet of the pump to measure the grouting pressure. The selection of the equipment is based on maximum grouting pressure required and the maximum grout mix output desired.
This surface pressure blaster is from the family air operated shot blasting machine and is suitable for units with moderate output. The abrasive stream is propelled with high velocity air current creating abrasion on the components. The components can be exposed to the blast stream by maneuvering it under the blasting Stream. If the components are bigger they can be kept on the floor of the blast cabinet or on a rotary table provided as optional accessory. The springs are loaded on the revolving rollers. The springs are loaded from one end & fed in the blasting cabinet where they are shot peened. The springs are unloaded from the other end of the blasting cabinet. The cabinet is protected by Mn. Liners for longer life. The shot are fed automatically by soundabrator valves for the wheels operated by solenoid valve & pneumatic cylinders. Dust generated during the process is being sucked by high efficiency dust collector along with the shots. These are being separated in media trap before entering the D.C. & the dust gets trapped in the filter bags & clean air is let out in the atmosphere thus keeping the system environment friendly.
The portable abrasive blasting machine is safe, high productivity systems designed for use with a wide range of abrasive media. The operation is performed on metals, glass, stones and ceramics. The machine works on pressure blasting principle, consist of a blast generator. The abrasives are filled at the top of machine when machine is not working and blast generator is not pressurized. At the top, a vibrating sieve is provided to sieve the abrasive filled. The oversize abrasive and debris are retained on the screen, thus prevent the choking of blast line. When mushroom valve is opened the abrasive will get transferred to blast generator for blasting. The mushroom valve gets closed when compressed air is switched on and abrasive storage tank gets pressurized, for free fall of abrasive into the mixing tube. From mixing tube the abrasive is carried away by compressed air to the nozzle for blasting. The Blast Generator is fabricated from MS Steel plate of thickness not less than 6 mm as per IS-2825 .

Super Blaster Machine works on suction principle of lifting abrasive media to the blasting gun. High pressure compressed air when injected through venturi creates suction on the side of air injection. This suction pressure so created is used to lift abrasives which mix with the high velocity compressed air creating soft blasting. These super blaster machines are used for glass bead blasting, alumina blasting of soft metals like aluminum di-casting, carving on glasses, roughening of stones. Various standard and special size machines are available for selection. Suction Blaster Operating Principal Suction Blaster is the simplest and most effective way to remove corrosion and old paint. Suction Blaster is a clean, dust free sand blaster that leaves the surface cleaned and well prepared for painting, filling etc. When the cabinet and power module is correctly set-up, the cabinet is ready for operation by actuation of the foot pedal. After pressing the foot pedal air flows through the blast gun. Air moving through the gun draws media into the blast gun mixing chamber. The media mixes with the air and is propelled out the nozzle. After striking the object being blasted, the blast media, along with fines, dust, and byproducts generated by blasting, fall through the grate into the cabinet hopper. These particles are drawn into the reclaimer for separation. Dust and fines are first separated from the reusable blast media. Next the media is screened of oversize particles, and returned to the reclaimer hopper for reuse. Dust and fines are drawn from the reclaimer into the dust collector which traps the dust, discharging clean air. When the foot pedal is released the blasting stops.

Surface International manufacturers COKE INJECTION MACHINE. This machine is widely used for Controlled Coke injection in the molten metal for making Steel Alloy. The machine entails a substantially built hopper having Storage Capacity 1 to 2 m3 Coke. This hopper is mounted on load 3 cells. The Coke is conveyed by a screw conveyor through a variable drive unit. The flow of material is controlled by a PLC controller which provide actual feed rate of coke form the machine and also permit in flight correction of the rate to achieve precise coke feeding time. The coke injection system has a rotor type Gunning machine which conveys the coke in a hose pipe to the furnace where it is injected into the molten metal through a metallic Lance. A Dust collector is provided with the system to take care of the coke dust generated during the process and keeps the environment friendly and Dust free. Coke injection rates 20 to 100 Kg. per min can be achieved with the machine and the required data can be entered on the MMI unit of PLC.
