Multi Core Round Cables

Suraj Cables Multicore Flexible Cables have a wide range of applications in machine tools, appliances, control panels, machinery & industries of every nature.

The PVC insulated cores that use 99.97% pure bright electrolyte grade copper conductors come with high insulation resistance & dielectric strength.

The inner cores are coded for ease of identification as per national/international coding practices. The sheathing is provided with a specially formulated PVC compound to facilitate not only ease in stripping but also to withstand mechanical abrasion while in use. These PVC compound used for insulation & sheathing have high oxygen & temperature index which help in restricting the spread of fire even at high temperature.

These cables are manufactured as per IS 694 : 1990, in sizes from 0.5 sq. mm. to 50 sq. mm. in single core & in size 0.5 sq. mm. to 4 sq. mm. up to 5 cores. These sizes carry the ISI mark & are duly approved by FIA/ TAC.

Aluminium Conductor-Aluminium Alloy Reinforced (ACAR)

Aluminium Conductor-Aluminium Alloy Reinforced (ACAR) combines 1350 and 6201 Aluminium alloy strands to provide a transmission conductor with an excellent balance of electrical and mechanical properties. This conductor consists of one or more layers of 1350-H19 hard drawn Aluminium strands helically wrapped over one or more 6201-T81 Aluminium Alloy wires. The core may consist of one or more 6201 strands depending upon the size of the conductor.The diameters of all wires are the same. Aluminium and Aluminium-Alloy wires can be mixed in the same layer as well.

The primary advantage of the ACAR conductor lies in the fact that all strands are interchangeable between EC and 6201, thereby permitting the design of a conductor with an optimum balance between mechanical and electrical characteristics. In effect, ACAR is a composite aluminium-aluminium alloy conductor which is designed for each application to optimize properties. Inverse ACAR conductors are also available with the harder 6201 aluminium alloy wires being on the outer surface of the conductor and the 1350 aluminium making up the heart of the conductor.

HT ABC Cables

XLPE/HDPE insulated power conductors of Aluminium (Neutral conductor and street lighting conductor if and when necessary) are laid together (twisted) around a high tensilegalvanized steel (Aluminium Alloy may be used) insulated or bare messenger wire to form the Aerial Bunched Cable. This assembly is directly strung on to distribution pole/towers by means of standard hardware available in the market, but care shall be taken to render the messenger wire completely insulated from Earthing at any point of distribution in case of HT ABC.MV AB cables are highly reliable and insulation has been developed to withstand extreme cold and intense sunlight. Disturbance and faults occur five to ten times more often in open wires lines than in AB cable lines. There is no risk in touching the live cable and the insulation reduces the number of short circuits and overvoltage faults in overhead cables during thunderstorms. Streets can be lit only at little extra cost by adding a Street Light Cable to ABC for lighting. The cable can be supplied with one or two insulated conductors for street lighting.11 KV & 33 KV Aerial Bunched cables are used for power distribution in cities where ground space is constrained.

LT XLPE Power Cable

The XLPE insulated cables were introduced worldwide in mid sixties. These cables have overcome the limitations of PVC Insulated Cables such as thermal degradation, poor moisture resistant and thermoplastic in nature. XLPE means cross-linked polyethylene. Because of cross-linking, the material becomes heat resistant and does not become soft at higher temperatures. Further, it has better resistance to stress cracking and good resistance to ageing in hot air. With the change of structure there is no adverse effect on electrical properties.

Aluminium-Clad Steel Reinforced

Aluminium Conductors, Aluminium-Clad Steel Reinforced (ACSR/AW) is a concentric-lay-stranded conductor consisting of aluminium-clad steel central core (Alumoweld) with one or more layers of hard drawn stranded 1350-H19aluminium wires. Alumoweld is a highly resistant steel rod, covered with a thick coating of pure aluminium, which is cold-drawn to obtain wires of the required diameters.

The design and dimensions of ACSR/AW conductors are identical to those of ordinary ACSR conductors, except the steel core in ACSR conductor, which is aluminium-clad steel core in ACSR/AW.
