Detonating Fuses are made of PETN as inner explosive material subsequently covered with two layers of superior quality of yarn and further coated with high strength PVC material for safe handling and water resistance. Penta Erythritol Tetra Nitrate generally known as PETN is a standard explosive compound obtained by nitration of Penta Erythrito with concentrated nitric Acid . it is in the from of white crystalline powder insoluble in water and highly soluble in Acetone . It finds its use in the manufacture of Detonating cords as main core material , In the pentolite Booster as a sensitizing charge , in the Detonating as a base charge etc.

The most common shock tube is generally composed of a small diameter plastic tube which has a light dusting of a combustible, explosive mixture adhered to the inside surface along its length. The mixture most used as the energetic material is an admixture of PETNand aluminum. Consists of a plastic tube carrying a very small quantity of reactive material on its inner surface. A No.8 strength instantaneous or delay detonator is crimped to one end of the ray tube. The unique design of bunch connector facilities interfacing with a detonator.

Applications

The blasting applications in opencast coal mines, open pit and under ground metal mines, Quarries, construction projects and tunnelings.

The detonators consist of an aluminum shell filled with desire dosage of PETN as base charge and mixer of Nickle Hydrozen Nitrate and aluminium powder (ANHN mixture) as priming charge. ANHN mixture is sensitives to flame while PETN is sensitive to the sock wave generated by ANHN mixture. In delay detonators a pyrotechnic element is placed above the ANHN mixture which provides the requited delay.
