Double Wall Drift Eliminators

We are offering a wide range of Double Wall Drift Eliminators. Drife146, double wall construction is a state-of-the-art drift eliminator that offers best efficiency and performance, is made of specially formulated UV stabilized rigid PVC having superior physical properties. These Double Wall Drift Eliminators are designed removing entrained partides from exhaust air stream efficiently, with minimum pressure drop, thereby reducing the fan energy requirement when the air passes through the drift eliminator.
The drifel146 double wall drift eliminator provides dimensional stability and durability, with rugged design & structural integrity for long service usage. These Double Wall Drift Eliminators are superior in practically removing tower drift in an energy efficient way. These can be pressure washed, if necessary, without any damage and can be easily assembled at site allowing span up to 1830 mm. Further, no gluing, no special tools or skilled labor is required. These drift droplets carried in the air stream, when forced to make the three changes in direction in each blade, create centrifugal forces on the drift droplets, forcing them to be captured by impaction and direct interception.
Sinusoidal passage forms are widely acknowledged as the most effective design. The flow of carryover water droplets is interrupted as a result of each direction change in these zones. These water droplets are captured on the sidewalls of drife146, they form a film of water that come down the wall via gravity to the drainage channels. This reduces the opportunity for reintrainment. Moreover, no voids or discontinuities exist in the eliminator section. Drife146 double wall drift eliminators have found wide acceptance in the industry and can give a drift loss of less than 0.001% of the circulating water rate, for all droplets larger than 65 microns. We have in-house testing machine to test these products as per ASTM, BIS, DIN, etc. The purpose of testing is to evaluate products to measure the results against the requirements, document the differences and also in order to help in resolving the differences.

FAB Media

The Fluidized Aeration Bed Reactor (FAB) system is an advanced high-rate wastewater treatment process utilizing free-floating media, which houses active biological cells. Essentially, the FAB Media is a hybrid process where attached growth and suspended growth treatment processes functions simultaneously. Arguably, the most important part of the FAB Media is the specially designed floating media, which provides large surface area for bacterial growth. Hence, these carrier elements (media) are in continuous movement, available surface area is constantly exposed to the waste water; hence uniform biological growth takes place over entire area of the media. 'Continuous Movement' of this carrier element is driven by air bubbles supplied inside the reactor by means on air diffusers.
COOLFLOAT Random Media for FAB is a 'Non/Low Clog' type, designed in view of various factors that influence the plant performance. Our pilot plant trials helped us on concluding the design parameters required with FAB. An important thrust was given to maintain the same active surface area even after plant stabilization period. Many moving bed reactor designers gave little importance to 'specific area lost' over a period of time thus led failures of similar installations. Either the system consumes a large amount of energy (as they eventually use coarse bubble aeration system to flush out the entrapped bio solids inside the media) or are forced to excess media in-order to overcome the 'lost area'.
The design of these small cylinders is crucial as it provides the optimum conditions for the growth and to flourish the bacterial culture and simultaneously facilitates the mass transfer of substrate and dissolved oxygen from the liquid effluent to the attached bio-film. The COOLFLOAT media is generally made of polypropylene with specific density less than 0.97 gm/cc. This helps in easy movement of the carrier material in the completely mixed tanks.

 

The unique concentric configuration of FAB Media permits lower air quantity by encouraging fine bubble diffused aeration system. All this result in increased contact time between the mixed liquor and the biology, thinner and more active biofilm and improved mixing in the tank. The biofilm that is created around each carrier element protects the bacterial cultures from operating excursions to yield a very robust system. The shape of the elements prevents "nesting" and significantly increases their oxygenation and trickling capability.

Splash Fills

We offer splash type fills for effective water cooling. The forbearing nature of Splash Fills towards 'dirty' water and imperfect water distribution is offset by the need to have larger towers and thus higher capital costs as well as pumping heads. Splash Fills work on the principle of causing the flowing water to fall through a grid of "splash bars" with which the water droplet breaks up, thus increases the contact time between water and air.
We have a wide range of products in the splash type fill environment, including v-bars, perforated slats, triangular bars & rectangular slats. The perforated v-bar is the most extensively used product in the industry. The standard sizes as well as the standard diamond shape round perforations in the 'v' bar ensure the cooling tower to perform as published in the CTI bulletins – particularly for the configurations – 8" x 8" perpendicular to airflow, 8" x 8" parallel to airflow and 16" x 8" parallel to airflow. This enables the cooling tower designer to have the complete information about calculating the thermal capabilities of the cooling tower along with its power requirements.
These splash bars are supported on lightweight thin section grids ensuring a minimum thickness of 1.5 mm for the v-bar and a maximum distance of 600mm between adjacent v-bars will help reduce the possibilities of sagging. Compact locking of the v-bar on the grid using v-bars clip will also ensure a sturdy fill structure. In addition to this, not only with v-bars but also with all Splash Fills maintenance of a level configuration is essential. If not done, water will channel to the low area of the fill configuration leaving areas devoid of water where no heat transfer will occur.
Given a choice of flow paths, air will travel the path of least resistance i.e. where there is a smaller water curtain the v-bar system has proven to be a superior system to upgrade cross flow cooling towers that have wood splash fill and for new construction where dirty water would clog film fills. Existing stainless steel or PVC coated wire mesh allows for a complete system utilizing the available splash bar technology. The design of our v-bar clip provides secure locking capabilities preventing wear on both the wire hanger and the fill. The raised center rib and the tab locks prevent the v-bar from slipping once locked into place. Clips are made of P.P.C.P that is a high impact resistance material able to remain flexible in an extensive range of temperature.

PVC Drift Eliminators

We are offering PVC Drift Eliminators manufactured from rigid PVC and are designed to remove entrained particles from air steam efficiently, with minimum pressure drop, thereby reducing the fan power requirement when the air passes through the drift Eliminator. Water droplets are separated from the air drift at the three direction change points on the drift eliminator. For crossflow tower applications, the almost vertical water conduits provided by the SPC 100 drift eliminator remove the water droplets out of the drift eliminator area and return them back into the tower and does not allow any re-entry. The special locking pin arrangement for SPC-100 facilitates quick and simple assembly at site.
When used in counter-flow cooling towers, the measurable residual liquid load behind a droplet separator characterizes its efficiency. The performance data of our droplet separators have been determined under laboratory conditions. At a face velocity (CA) of 3.5 ms and a specific water flow (rw) -22tm2 h, the residual liquid load of the air is 15mgm3. If this residual load is related to the circulating cooling water volume this equates to a value smaller than 0.001%.

 

Fundamental conditions required to achieve these high efficiencies in practice are, a workman like installation, the droplet separator sections must be installed without any gaps between themselves or the tower walls to ensure by passing does not take place. The face value shall not exceed the maximum permissible value at any position across the total area of the separator. Any performance testing of the separators must be carried out immediately above the separators and by using a test method consistent with that employed in our laboratory or otherwise agreed with ourselves. We can advise on the likely operating efficiencies of specific towers provided that their operating data are made available to us.

Perforated Stats

We offer Perforated Stats having surface and splash equivalent to the timber section 1 ½ x ½ (highly used fill in wooden towers) giving an enhanced thermal performance. The diamond shaped perforations carved on these Perforated Stats reduce the pressure drop considerably. The tower efficiency can be increased by up to 15% by offering a higher airflow for the same power and configuration or by reducing the power required to maintain the same airflow.
The older cross flow timber towers as well as some of the inefficiently designed newer once use rectangular timber slats for applications as fill media. The rectangular timber slats provide very little in terms of enhanced surface area for the air and water to mix. We have designed Perforated Stats to replace existing rectangular timber slats. The efficient design of the SPC Perforated Stats cause the water droplets spread over the solid surface and perforated holes. The flowing water is held on the holes due to surface tension and forms a thin film. The water film formed over these rectangular holes has very low surface tension at its corners and thus a tendency to capture frequently. During this process of rupturing the water film is broken into small globules, thus providing maximum heat transfer.
