Magnetic Stirrers Belt Drive

MAGNETIC STIRRERS, MIXERS AND AGITATORS
Pdc manufactures a wide variety of magnetic stirrers for all of your stirring requirements. Uses include pharmaceutical R&D, laboratory operations, pilot plant development and chemical production. The Pdc magnetic stirrer system includes the magnetic drive, shaft, motor, belt, belt guard and agitator (or impeller). We offer many stirrer or impeller design choices, including flat or pitched blade, helical ribbon, anchor, and gas dispersion versions. Pdc also provides custom designed agitators.
Our technology assures leak-free, contamination-free and emissions-free mixing at high pressures and temperatures. It also protects the health of your personnel and the environment and ensures the integrity of your product. PUMA magnetic mixers or magnetic stirrers are an ideal choice when working with toxic, hazardous, highly corrosive or high-purity materials.
The operating concept for the PUMA magnetic mixer is surprisingly simple yet thoroughly effective. Drawing on proprietary technology, PDC utilizes a magnetic coupling between an outer magnet assembly - driven by a motor - and an inner magnet assembly, separated by the PUMA Drive tube. When the outer magnet assembly rotates the torque is magnetically transferred through the stationary drive tube to the inner magnets attached to the drive shaft.
BELT DRIVE VS DIRECT DRIVE
PUMA magnetic stirrers are quick and easy to maintain resulting in less down time and low operating costs. Within minutes, the PUMA Drive can be disassembled, for cleaning the drive tube and inner shaft or replacing the bearings, then reassembled without ever needing to touch the V-belt drive assembly. In contrast it is cumbersome and time consuming to perform the same service on a direct drive magnetic agitator.
APPLICATIONS
For many years our chemical magnetic mixer has been used in laboratories, pilot plants and small-scale production facilities for batch and continuously stirred vessel (CSTR) operation. Our chemical mixer is ideal for:
Liquids Blends
Solvents Fuels
Lacquers Slurries
Oils Starches
Synthetic Materials Pulp and Paper
Specialty Chemicals Particle Synthesis
Biotech Catalyst Preparation

EXCEPTIONAL VALUE
PDC Machines has refined the PUMA Drive magnetic mixer to the highest level of technical achievement and quality of construction. This results in a mixer requiring infrequent service, is simple to operate and maintain, and will provide many years of reliable low-cost operation. The advantages of the PUMA Drive magnetic agitator include:
Air-cooled drive tube isolates the heat of the vessel and removes the heat generated by the eddy
currents of the magnets to retain the torque rating of the drive during operation.
V-Belt Drive uses no rotary or mechanical seals, never needs lubrication, is simple to maintain.budge
Proprietary speed sensor technology directly and accurately measures the drive shaft rotation and
detects the event of a magnetic coupling failure
Fixed or Variable Speed Drives uses AC or DC motors for any electric service, or air-driven motors.

Duplex Syringe Pumps

POSITIVE DISPLACEMENT SYRINGS PUMPS
PDC's syringe pumps are designed to deliver liquids at a constant flow rate and a constant output pressure. Fluctuations in the flow rate and output pressure are minimal. We design simplex and duplex for batch and continuous operations. Accuracy and repeatability of flow is 0.05%.
In a simplex syringe pump, a fluid contained in a body or pump head is forced into the process system with a plunger. A syringe pump is a type of positive displacement pump. Syringe pumps excel at injecting fluid at a volumetric flow rate (generally slow) without generating any pressure pulsations. Depending on seal design, syringe pumps are capable of pumping to very high pressures (up to 60, 000 psig /4, 100 barg).
Two simplex pumps can be coupled together to create a continuous pulse-less feed duplex pump.
BARREL SIZE
Barrel sizes range from 125cc to 1500 cc and can be built in accordance to customer specified materials, which are compatible to the process. For example, stainless steel, Inconel, Monel or Hastelloy.
FLOW RATES
The output flow rate can be adjusted to any desired value within a specified range. Flow rates can be entered via the operator inter-face. This flow control system is calibrated specifically to each pump. Please refer to the Specifications section for a selection of typical flow rate ranges (up to 400 ml/min).
PDC's syringe pumps will displace any liquid that can be moved into the pump head. Limitation on the liquid may include ones with abrasives or suspended particles. The pump is certainly capable of moving liquids with abrasives and suspended particles, however, abrasives may shorten the seal and plunger life, and the particles may fall out in the pump head since a syringe pump has a slow moving plunger.
INSTRUMENTATION
The extent of instrumentation typically depends upon the customer's requirements. PDC can provide basic or very sophisticated control packages can tailor these systems to the customer's needs. This flexibility prevents the user from being forced into using an off the
shelf pump with a fixed configuration.
APPLICATIONS
PDC's pulse-less, continuous feed syringe pumps are ideal for use in laboratories, pilot plants and industrial production applications when there is a need for:
Consistent & extremely accurate pulseless flow
Constant output pressure
Rugged & continuous duty operation
