Ruffle

Many articles of clothing that you sew call for ruffles. There might be ruffles on the sleeves, on a men's dress shirt, or, most commonly, on a long tiered skirt. In order to stitch fabric so that it creates ruffles, it's necessary to gather the edge to create ruffles and have it ease evenly and smoothly into any area of the garment that calls for ruffles. This is not as easy as it sounds, because gathering them evenly can many times be difficult and time consuming. But with this guide, you'll be able to make perfect ruffles to liven up any garment!

To make it easier to spread the ruffles out evenly, before gathering find the center of the ruffle by folding the piece in half end to end and place a dot in the middle of the piece inside the seam allowance where it won't show in the finished piece; then fold the half sections in half again and place another dot at the fold. You can do this as many times as you want. When the piece is gathered you can tell by the distance between the dots if you have the ruffles evenly spaced. When pinning the gathered piece to the fabric, place a pin at the side seams, then one at the middle dot, then pins at the dots marking the middle of the smaller sections, etc. until you have the piece securely pinned in place. When sewing the ruffle to the garment, flatten out the areas that will be in the side seams so the fabric will lie flat there and part of the ruffle doesn't get caught in the seam.

To keep the ruffles evenly spaced during sewing, use a basting stitch to hold them in place. This can be done by hand or with the sewing machine using a long stitch and decreasing the pressure on the feed dogs of the machine to let the fabric and pins slide more smoothly through the stitching area. If the pressure is too tight the ruffled fabric can slide together making the gathering lumpy. After basting you can set the foot pressure back to normal and remove the pins because the basting stitch will hold the ruffles in place. This line of basting stitches sometimes comes out a little crooked depending on how small the part of the garment being worked on may be, such as sewing a sleeve into an armhole. After basting, look at the piece from the right side and see if the gathers are evenly space. If not, you can cut the basting stitch on the smooth side of the seam (not the gathered side because the stitches will probably be hidden by the gathers) and repin and resew the section you want to fix. If basting stitches show on the outside of the piece after the final sewing is done, they are easy to remove because they are a long stitch that a seam ripper or small scissor can slide under to cut the thread without cutting the fabric.

Permanent Embossed Polyester Fabrics

Sat Creation can be enhanced with various embossing techniques. Embossing is a 3D effect for textiles that opens up exciting new design options. Permanent embossed polyester fabrics retain their attractive appearance even after several cleaning cycles. The patterns are applied with a combination of heat and pressure on thermoplastic, synthetic materials.

We employ embossing as a technique to produce a raised or 3-dimensional image on all sorts of fabrics. In the general course we employ two ways to emboss, dry embossing and heat embossing are two such ways. We use dry embossing, also called relief embossing, with the help of a stylus, stencil, and a few other supplies. In the heat embossing, also known as the stamp and heat embossing, we generally use special powder, ink, and a heat source. Both of the embossing techniques used by our side are fairly simple and offer the striking images to the fabrics.

Embossing is a way of making fabrics form designs without anything harmful to health and environment. It makes designs through puckering the fabrics. Embossed fabrics are widely used in home textile, garment, craft articles etc, especially serve for curtain.

Embossed fabric is similar to corrected fabric. The fabric is stamped under high pressure in a press to make unique designs. It is sometimes also made to imitate full grain characteristics. It is made in a variety of designs and patterns like embossing an alligator, crocodile, ostrich, flowers, geometric and many Indian designs

Foil Printing

Foil printing is to print some pattern with the foil on the fabric or paper for shinny effect. There are 2 kind of foil printing method. First, pattern is printed by glue on the fabric or paper, and then pressed with foil paper by hot steel roller. Second is printing on the foil paper first, and then press the foil on the fabric or paper. Of course with hot steel roller or iron. Foil paper look like cooking foil, but it is called the stamping foil paper. Actually it is not the paper but the detachable foil film on the plastic base.

We use foil printing to provide excellent printing on a number of fabrics. The foil printing is done with the help of special machines, perfect for small to medium run printing jobs. The machines have been manufactured in a way that they can contain foils of varying thickness. We do foil printing in single, multiple colors, rainbow color or in a holographic pattern. The process entails relocation of foil on to different surface as a result of heat and pressure application, and transfers foil onto the desired fabrics. We carry out this transfer of the foil by using a metal die, heat and pressure.

Full Coating Fabric

Full Coating fabric basically refers to a flexible complex material that is generally made by doing coating agents to either one or both sides of the fabric substrate. After applying coating to a fabric it is oven cured which creates an interphase among them. Interphase is referred to a mixture that is formed when the coating agent enters into the fabric substate.

The final output or product we get after coating and interphasing is quite flexible and solid. A coated fabric is often durable and its surface is generally finished with some sort of specific texture like leather. A coated fabric is moreover embossed in imitation of leather. A coated fabric is easily washable and stronger as compared to other flexible fabrics.

Pleating

Pleating is the process of putting a design of creases into fabric. Pleating is accomplished by machine or by the use of interlocking paper pleat patterns.

Pleating is a steam heat process and we use no chemicals during processing. Permanency depends entirely on the fabric. 100% polyester fabrics are best for pleating and can normally be washed at a low temperature and still hold a pleat.

Most natural fabrics such as wool or silk will pleat perfectly well, but care has to be taken in cleaning and wearing. Specialist dry cleaning is recommended. Cotton and Linen will pleat but tends to crease easily. All care is taken during processing but no responsibility can be taken for colour change, bubbling or shrinkage.

Pleating is the gathering of the fabric into rows in preparation for smocking. Years ago, the gathering was done by hand -- first by ironing dot transfers onto the fabric, and then by picking up the dots with a needle and thread. After all the dots were picked up, the threads were pulled to form the pleats. Today, pleating can be done quickly and easily using a pleater.

In case of velvet fabrics, they can be machine washed, or a velvet board should be used while washing. This will protect the pile when the cloth is being ironed. Crushed silk fabrics should be dry cleaned. Scars and marks on crushed fabrics can be removed by brushing them slightly. If it is wet completely, then the cloth should be steamed or dry cleaned to revive the life of the pile. Crushing is made both on Finished and Pre-finished Fabrics.
(A) Finished Fabrics :-Any kind of Poly, Nylon or Cationic fabric can be Crushed.
(B) Pre-Finished :-Pre-Finished fabric is one which fabric taken from the weaving unit and then crushed and sent for wet process and the final Finish.Crushed fabrics are beautiful and luxurious and enhance the appearance of the wearer, or the interior of a place when used as upholsteries. Crushed appearance exhibits an aesthetic value and ensures prolonged usage. Some additional attention should be given to the care and maintenance of such fabrics.
Crushed velvet is preferably used for making upholsteries like drapes, curtains, pillows, car seat covers, handbags etc. It is also used in the manufacture of fashionable garments. Apparels made with crushed velvet have an appealing luster effect in the direction of the pile and gives a vintage appearance to the wearer.
Silk fabrics are first manufactured and then are crushed deliberately to give is a special texture and pattern. This technique gives an elegant and graceful beauty to the silk fabrics thus manufactured. This type of fabric is mainly used for making designer clothes.

This crushing technique is enduring process, though it might well be said as at least half permanent and can be refreshed after washing. We use improved apparatus for crushing cloth, such as velvet or other pile type fabric. We carry out the crushing by relentlessly pulling lengths of the cloth into an elongated treatment chamber to form random creases therein. During the process, the cloth is stuffed further
