Nannari or Naruneendi is obtained from Hemidesmus indicus which is commonly referred to as Indian sarasaparilla. The extract from roots of this plant is widely used as a body coolant and mixed with either jaggery or lime. It provides relief in summers when the body gets dehydrated and it acts as a natural cooling system for the body. The extract is also used as a blood purifier and health tonic. Nannari extracts are also used in many home remedies for treatment of Urinary tract infections, constipation and for improving general digestion. This syrup is prepared from the fruit of nutmeg tree Myristica fragrans. Nutmeg husk, nutmeg powder and mace have long been known for its medicinal properties and as an evergreen spice.
