The electro magnetic metering pumps are used in low pressure and low flow applications. The drive unit consumes less energy than motor driven pumps. The pump capacity is varied by both stroke length and speed controls.

Functioning:

These Dosing or Metering Pumps (oscillating positive displacement pumps) suck in a defined volume with the backstroke of the displacer and press it into the dosing line with the pressure stroke. Adjusting the stroke volume and the dosing strokes per time unit can regulate the metering capacity.

The pumping action is created by the reciprocating motion of a plunger. Simplex Plunger Pumps:

A simplex plunger pump is a reciprocating pump. This pump has a single liquid cylinder which forces liquid out through the top outlet on both the in and the out stroke. They can be single acting or double acting.

Duplex Plunger Pumps:

The duplex plunger pump is similar to the simplex plunger pump, having two pistons instead of one, providing smoother operation with individual or common inlet & outlet.

Triplex Plunger Pumps:

Triplex plunger pumps are very similar to duplex plunger pumps. They are reciprocating pumps with three cylinders. This pumps can be used for liner flow at high pressure.
