Woodfree paper is typically referred to as “fine paper.” It is commonly used for printing letterheads, notebooks, notepads, calendars, maps and other similar type items, which are used for writing or standard printing.
How they are made :
Woodfree Paper a product made out of Chemical Pulp which is normally made from pulp wood items, but is not considered wood as most of the lignin is removed and separated from the cellulose fibers during processing. whereas mechanical pulp retains most of its wood components and can therefore still be described as wood. Woodfree paper is not as susceptible to yellowing as paper containing mechanical pulp.

Newsprint is a low-cost, non-archival paper most commonly used to print newspapers, and other publications and advertising material. it usually has an off-white cast and distinctive feel. It is designed for use in printing presses that employ a long web of paper rather than individual sheets of paper. Newsprint mainly consists of wood pulp. Newsprint is favoured by publishers and printers as it is relatively low cost
How they are made:
Newsprint is usually created by a mechanical milling process, without the chemical processes that are often used to get rid of lignin from the pulp. The lignin causes the paper to become brittle and yellow when exposed to air and/or sunlight. Traditionally, newsprint was made of fibers extracted from various softwood species of trees (most commonly, spruce, fir, balsam fir or pine). However, an increasing percentage of the worlds newsprint paper is made with recycled fibers. South India Paper Solutions Newsprint is made up of recycled fibers and is well accepted for its quality.

The raw material is normally softwood pulp from the Kraft process. Maintaining a high effective sulfur ratio or sulfidity is important for the highest possible strength using the Kraft process. The Kraft process can use a wider range of fiber sources than most other pulping processes. All types of wood, including very resinous types like southern pine and non-wood species like bamboo and kenaf can be used in the Kraft process.
