Brief history: fresh coffee cherries handpicked by khasi women, one of the few surviving matrilineal tribes in the world. Coffee plant is found scattered throughout the rollicking hills and cascading waterfalls of meghalaya,north east, india. Smoky falls tribe coffee headquartered in shillong, meghalaya tries to capture the beautiful essence of the coffee grown in these regions.the initiative started by a young khasi woman entrepreneur and her family, attempts to revive the forgotten custom of coffee drinking by past generations especially in her native village, located in the southern slopes of cherrapunjee( wettest place on earth). The packaged coffee is produced using the best modern roasting and grinding methods.
