The product range offered predominantly caters to babies from the age group of 0 to 18 months. The company markets its products under the brand name SILKYPETALS and LILMYN.SMKA ENTERPRISES was established in the year 2004 by Mrs Jayashree Sudheendra and Chetan. S. SMKA Enterprises is a partnership firm headed by Mrs Jayashree Sudheendra and Chetan S. The company currently has manufacturing units in Bangalore and Tirupur, and has about 90 to 100 employees working in the firm directly or indirectly. Mrs Jayashree Sudheendra has experience in the field of baby clothing manufacturing for the last 30 years. Mrs Jayashree Sudheendra worked as the General Manager of Tinycare from the year 1984-2004, and finally started her own company in the year 2004. Mr Chetan S, son of Mrs Jayashree Sudheendra is a postgraduate from University of Strathclyde, Glasgow and handles all aspects of management and product development. This blend of youth and experience adds a great flavour to the management team of SMKA Enterprises. Areas Of Operation The company presently markets its products in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Kolkata, Andhra- Pradesh, few parts of Kerala, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. The firm has expanded its network steadily over a period of 6 years. Product Range The company specialises in Baby Towels, Wraps, reusable nappies, and makes a wide range of other utilities like pillows, bibs, sleeping bags, caps and other accessories. Now the company has now also started with baby garments. Infrastructure The company operates in a 5000sqft unit in Bangalore and 4000sqft area in Tirupur, and the company has now been allotted with a Industrial Land of half an acre by Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board(KIADB) in Harohalli 2nd stage. Quality The company maintains very high quality standards and an example of this is the end product, care is taken right from the raw stage to ensure excellent end product. Corporate Social Responsibility The company has a majority women employment, which has provided job opportunities to a number of widows, mentally challenged. The company does not employ any child labourers and maintains good working condition for all. The staffs are enrolled under PF and ESI. Growth The company has seen an average growth rate of 25% since the last 5 years. The company has also made a conscious effort in keeping its overheads as low as possible in order to make the products available to its end consumers at a very affordable price, and we accredit this to be one of the major reasons for our growth. The company now has two C/F agents, one in Delhi and another in Kolkata in order to ensure faster delivery and better supply chain.
