The Infrared Quartz Tubes are designed for a couple of different heating applications and processes like toasters, room or patio heating or industrial drying. SmitHeat Quartz elements provide medium-wave infrared energy with fast heat up and cool down with element temperatures ranging from 1000 F to 2000F. The elements produce infrared energy in the 2 to 3.5 micron range. Infrared heaters use either a fuel to heat an emitter, or an electrically heated filament as the emitting body. Filament is protected with a heat-resistant quartz glass tube.
We offer both clear and satin (translucent) quartz. Clear quartz radiates about 95% of the infrared energy directly, whereas satin quartz absorbs about 35% of the energy and radiates it at a longer wavelength.
We also offer quartz element with reflective coating of different material like Gold, Silver.
For this diverse range of applications, various connectors can be installed at both tube ends. Infrared Quartz Tubes are available as light or dark emitters and generally designed for horizontal assembly. Through constructive adoptions it is also possible to operate them in a tilt or vertical position.
Following are the different kinds of Filament used as per requirement::-SmithHeat Cartridge heatersconsist of a cylindrical stainless steel tube which provides high corrosion prevention and there is a heating wire inside which is wound onto a ceramic core. The number of coils varies depending on the power. In order to avoid short-circuit, the cartridge heater is filled with magnesium oxide and compressed afterwards. The specially formulated Magnesium oxide is utilized inside the heater is transformed into a rock-hard, highly efficient heat transferring medium through a special cold forming process.
Cartridge heaters can withstand tough industrial usage; they can transmit up to 200 watts/in heating capacity and are able to attain up to 1500F sheath temperature. Cartridge heaters can be dual-voltage, three-phase, and/or supplied with a ground terminal and with different termination styles, mounting attachments and various optional features.
Cartridge heaters are robust and easy to install. In order to facilitate installation and heat transmission, cartridge heaters are made 0.1 mm less than the nominal size of the receptacle hole with a tolerance of +/- 0.05 mm.

Industrial Applications for Cartridge Heaters:-SmitHeathigh-density cartridge heaters are widely used in numerous high temperature industrial applications such as, in plastics industry cartridge heaters are used in hot runners to temper during injection moulding processes. Other areas of applications for process heat are die-casting or continuous casting in which zinc or aluminium is processed. Following are some of its industrial applications :-
