To prevent this, use materials with good hot strength and ductility/toughness. Uddeholm Orvar Superior or Bohler W303 Isodisc are suitable in most standard hot forging applications. When higher toughness is demanded, use Uddeholm Dievar or Bohler W400 VMR.
