This bench mounted, single spindle lapping machine is ideally suited for the final polishing of mounted rock or concrete specimens.
Two sample holders of sample size ordered for are provided with each machine as standard supply. Sample holders of other sizes can also be provided on request. This is a motor driven unit with 450/500 rpm. A swing-in tap, for continuous water supply during operation, is also provided. This unit is operated by a single phase, 230 V, AC motor.
Double walled construction. Inner chamber made of S.Steel & outer Mild Steel painted with white stoving enamel. S.Steel Trays to hold Blood Bags with separate acrylic door for each compartment. Temperature can be controlled up till 0C by Electronic Digital. Temperature Controller cum indicator with an accuracy of +/-0.5C. Built in safety audio/visual alarms such as door opening alarm, temperature fluctuation alarm, power failure alarm are provided with the controller itself. A sealed condensing unit/compressor with all accessories and fan cooled condenser are fitted at the bottom below working chamber. Inside temperature uniformity is maintained by air circulation fans. Using a speedy moisture meter, the moisture content of soils, sand and other fine-grained material can be obtained quickly with reasonable accuracy. The test technique is based on the fact that water will react with calcium carbide to form acetylene gas and the quantity of gas formed is directly proportional to the water present, leaving a surplus of the chemical used in the test. The quantity of acetylene gas produced is indicated on a built-in pressure gauge, which is calibrated in percentage of moisture on wet weight basis.
Modern test procedures require specimens of cements, limes and related materials when formed into mortar, to be cast in certain standard shapes and sizes for determining the mechanical properties with a view to have a proper control on the quality of materials used. Mortar is prepared by mixing 185 g cement, 555 g standard sand and 74 g water separately for each cube of 70.6 mm. The homogeneous mixing is done using a mortar mixer and compacted using a vibration machine.

A specially designed Vibration Machine is used for vibrating the mix in moulds according to strictly controlled programmer at a frequency of 12, 000 400 cycles per minute. The Vibrator is mounted over coiled springs and the vibrations are developed by means of a revolving eccentric shaft. The center of gravity of the vibrator, including the cube and mould, is either at the center of the eccentric shaft or within 25 mm below it. The simple design of the machine facilitates easy assembly and dismantling of the cube moulds. The machine is suitable for operation on 230 V, 50 Hz, and single-phase, AC supply. Each machine is supplied with one cube mould.
