Multi Mill

Multi Mill is a device used for high speed mixing and grinding, or chopping of both wet and dry materials used in pharmaceuticals, chemicals, cosmetics etc. Various levels of force swings the hammer containing the knives that rotates on the screen to chop or reduce the size of the material. Coating Pan

Construction And Operation :

  •  Pan : SS 316 semi ellipsoidal size pan with a circular mouth for charging & discharging of tablets Pan mounted at an inclination of 45 degrees to the horizontal.
  • Drive Assembly : Consists of a suitable HP 3 Phase, 440 V, and 1440-RPM TEFC motor with suitable worm reduction gearbox and cone pulley arrangement to give three-speed output.
  • Hot Air Blower : The unit is provided with a hot air blower consisting of suitable HP 3 Phase 440 V, 2880-RPM TEFC electric motor & centrifugal blower with damper delivering required CFM. Colloid Mills

 

COLLOID MILL is suitable for homogenising emulsifying dispersing, mixing, comminuting of liquids to highly viscous products. It is based on rotor – stator principle, It is available in plain as well as water jacketed in both STD & GMP models.

 

A colloid mill is a machine that is used to reduce the particle size of a solid in suspension in a liquid, or to reduce the droplet size of a liquid suspended in another liquid. This is done by applying high levels of hydraulic shear to the process liquid. It is frequently used to increase the stability of suspensions and emulsions. The colloid mill is used for various applications such as Superfine grinding, homogenizing, emulsifying, dispersing, mixing and extracting of liquids, ointments and highly viscous products in pharmaceutical, cosmetics, suspensions & emulsion industry.

 

The product is fed to the hopper which leads the product into the gap between rotor and stator. The product is subjected to a high degree of shearing, cutting and rubbing between two metal toothed surfaces of rotor and stator and towards the discharge section. The processed product continuously leaves the mill through drain pipe if required, it can be re-circulated by three way cock and re-circulating pipe assembly.

High Shear Rapid Mixer

The High Shear Rapid Mixers, supplied and manufactured at Shashvath Fabricators and Engineers plant at Thane, Maharashtra is developed, for not just mixing dry ingredients but also to facilitate wet granulation. A multi bladed impeller is fitted for this purpose. This impeller is fitted to the base of the capacious mixing bowl and the chopper is mounted onto the wall of the bowl. Standard processing time is :

General Specifications

Mixing Bowl & Cover

SS 304 bowl design in three sections i.e Flat bottom, cylindrical mid portion and conical top portion for efficeint mixing operation & provided with counter balanced lid. Lid provided with vents, view ports & charging openings.

Main Impeller & Drive

The main impeller consists of dual speed 750/1500 synchronous dual HP TEFC motor, coupled through a belt drive to a worm reduction gearbox with chain coupling. The impeller is designed to provide mixing at the bottom and at the centre of the bowl and is driven through a specially designed bearing housing that facilitates inside wash facility for quick change over and also prevents leakage of powder from bottom entry and leads to longer life gear box.

Chopper

The chopper drive consists of dual HP speed (1400/2800 synchronous speed)TEFC MOTOR. The motor shaft is of SS and the chopper has specially designed 4 blade SS impeller. The shaft is integral with the motor. The assembly mounted horizontally into the bowl.

Dsicharge Port

The discharge port is mounted horizontally into the bowl with vertical downward opening. The opening is operated by pneumatic cylinder and discharged can be regulated for required opening.

Mounting

A sturdy MS channel frame is used to house the drive assembly at the bottom. The bowl is mounted on the top . A SS staircase and railings are provided for the platform. The platform is half covered with SS dimpled plates. For safe movement of operater and the area under the bowl is covered with SS. The entire body is covered from the sides by suitable SS covers.

STERILE MAGENTIC MIXER

Magnetic Mixer has a drive mechanism that can be removed quickly and easily a major advantage, because small vessels can then be autoclaved rather than sterilized-in place (if preferred). All product contact parts are stainless steel 316L, with special grade tungsten carbide bearing surfaces.

These allow smooth trouble free operation and are an integral part of the impeller head and carrier. The open impeller design allows easy cleaning and can easily be removed for separate cleaning and sterilization. Magnetic Mixers are fully engineered & designed for better CIP/SIP compliances.

It should be noted that higher is the viscosity , lower is mixing capacity of Mixing head. Therefore, selection of Mixing head is based on media Viscosity & demand of mixing application.

NOTE:
  • The mixing capacities above are based on aqueous like products with a density of 1000kg/m3 (S.G.=1) and a viscosity of 1cp.
  • Typical applications for Gentle mixing are where solids are held in suspension.
  • Typical applications for Blending are where soluble liquids are mixed together or where powders easily dissolve into the liquid.
  • Typical applications for Vigorous mixing are where a vortex is required for blending of powders into a liquid.
CONSTRUCTION DETAILS:
  • Inside the impeller head is a ring of rare earth magnets encapsulated in a 316L stainless steel housing. Welded to this housing are the mixing blades, which form an integral impeller head.
  • The blade shape and profile has been determined to optimize agitation levels and to direct a proportion of the cleaning fluid through the head.
  • A drive unit mounts externally to the vessel and can be quickly and easily removed using a bayonet type connection. This is particularly useful when sterilizing the vessel in an autoclave or when sharing a single drive unit between vessels.
  • The impeller head runs on a special grade of tungsten carbide that has been manufactured under controlled conditions to achieve the correct size, grain structure and hardness. The running surfaces have a ground mirror finish.
  • The vessel can be cleaned in place (CIP) using spray balls and/or by immersion in a cleaning fluid. For maximum effect rotating type spray heads are recommended. Sterilization in place (SIP) is possible with temperatures up to 145C.
  • A wide range of operating controls are supplied from a simple stand-alone panel to a fully integrated automation system.
  • The Female bearing (rotating bearing) in the centre of the impeller body is Silicone Carbide.

HIGH SHEAR ONLINE MIXER

SHASHVATH has substantial experience in designing, fabrication, erection & commissioning of Large Volume Parental Mixing Solution System based on Online High Shear mixing Technologies. In this design, no internal agitators are fitted which leads to no cross contamination & deviation in cleaning validation. Entire vessel from inside is electro polished leaving no space of crevices & ridges henceforth no place for any bioorganic to exist. This design is economical in investment & have far better flexibility in batch size variation as High Shear Homogenizer / Emulsifier is externally fitted in re-circulation. Online temp. mapping of re-circulatory pipe line & all points well within tanks are there for cleaning validation. Head of external homogenizer is quick release type & compatible to sterilization. Agitator seals are capable of sustaining Pure steam pressure for SIP cycle.

Better & faster dissolution of solute into main WFI stream is achieved in this design as mixing is done at higher RPM & re-circulation of mixed liquid is at tangential position in tank. Therefore vortex created also enhances mixing.

EMULSIFIER AND STIRRER are provided with different types of agitation components for process such as mixing, blending, dissolution, dispersion, homogenization, reaction, fermentation, oxidation, digestion and emulsification of liquid, paste, ointment, solution, viscous material and solid-liquid.

EMULSIFIER AND STIRRER are designed and adapted to any vessel shape and can be implemented with or without lower support. Different types of blades can be combined depending on the process requirements. The sealing system are designed and adapted depending on the requirement of the various process and start from simple retainers to double mechanical seals. Agitators are available with different type of mounting as per suitability of the process and users requirements.

Different types of blades can be combined depending on the process requirements and various conditions including the stirring objective, tank shape, rotating speed, viscosity, mixing blades of different configurations should be applied for different operating objectives. Different mixing blades follow various specifications to design and select the configurations of the blades. The ratio of the blade to the inner diameter of the tank, angular speed of the blade top, viscosity change during mixing process and the range of the flow volume are the factors to be considered. There are various types of blade mixer and can be categorized into axial flow and radial flow according to the flow pattern of the fluid in the tank.
The main factors affecting mixing performance are as below and the commonly used configurations are listed for reference:

  • Shape, diameter, sweep back angle and slant angle of the mixer blade
  • Number of layers and the vertical position of the mixer blade where it is installed
  • Rotating speed of the mixer blade
  • Shape, inner volume, number of baffles and outline dimensions of the mixing tank
  • Batch operation or continuous operation.

Agitators available with different type of drives and speeds with direct motor and with gear drive as per process requirements. Agitators are suitable for mixing volumes 5 liters to 10, 000 liters.
