BIS : 2386 (Part 1). For determining the elongation index of coarse aggregate. It consists for a steel plate on which 8 steel pins are vertically mounted with specified distance in between. This assembly is mounted on a hardwood base.
A.Carries upto 7 sieves of 20 diameter. The shaker is driven by a h.p. electric motor through a reduction gear. The sieve table does not rotable but is inclined from the vertical axis and the direction changes progressively in the clockwise direction. By removal of a stop-pin fixed to below the table, the shaker can have a rotary motion. In addition to the gyratory motion of the table, there is an upward and downward movement ensuring that ench square cm of the sieve is utilisd. The whole gear meachanism runs in an oil bath.

Specification:-Consists of a water reservoir and a holder for sieves which can take upto 7 sieves of 15 cm or 20 cm diameter. The sieve holder connected to a reciprocating mechanism moves up and down in a water reservoir. The receiprocating mechanism is connected to a reduction gear coupled to motor. BIS-4031. It is high pressure autoclave designed especially for conducting accelerated soundness tests on Cement or the autoclave expansion tests. It mounted in a sturdy supporting frame, and enclosed in a heat-insulated/metal housing which is attractively finished in hammertone paint. The top has a pressure regulator safety valve and pressure gauge. The unit attached to the side of the housing has power switcnes and pilot light for controlling the electric heating unit.
BIS-4031. Vibration is mounted over coiled springs. Vibrations are by means of a revolving shaft with an eccentric. Frequency 12000400 vibration per minute. Centre of gravity of the vibrator including the cube and mould is either at the centre of the eccentric shaft or within 25 mm below it. Easy assembling and dismantling of cube mould. Provided with belt guard and a time switch. Suitable for operation in 230 volts, 50 cycles single phase A.C. supply. Vibration machine is supplied complete with one cube mould.
Used to determine the moisture content at which clay soils pass from a plastic to a liquid state. Two Version are available. One the standard one & the other is semi-automatic with timer where the cone is allowed to free fall for a period of 5 seconds including one each of 50 gm. & 100 gm. weight, one penetration cone, preset counter & measuring cup.
For determining the liquid limit of soils. This is specially useful to obtain valuable and accurate results for those soils (alluvial) which are sandy and for which the liquid limit falls below 25 or so and plasticity index between 4 and 7, but is also applicable for a wide range of soils. It meets the requirements of BIS-2720 Part V and consist of a cone fixed to a bearing rod. A graduate scale is fixed to the bracket. Complete with container.

As perBS 598-107The Automatic Compactor eliminates the laborious process of manual compaction and an even degree of compaction is achieved. The driven mechanism lifts the weight of 4.5kg and drops it through a correct height of 457 mm. The rammer foot is removable, which facilitates preheating. An Automatic Blow counter enables the number of blows to be present before each test and automatically stops the machine on completion. As perIS 2720 (PART XXIX) 1966This is used for determination of in situ dry density of natural or compacted fine grained soil, free from aggregates. A cylindrical cutter is used to extract a sample of the soil with the help of a dolly and rammer. From the weight, density and the moisture, and dry density of the soil is ready calculated. It consists one each of: cylindrical core cutter mode of steel, 127.3mm. Long and 100mm internal diameter. Steel dolly, 25mm high with a lip to enable it to be located on top of the core cutter, rammer with detachable steel rod.
ASTM D-2172. AASHO T-58, T-164. For the determination of Bitumen percentage is Bituminous mixtures. It has a removable precision- machined aluminium rotor bowl mounted on a vertical shaft. A filter paper disc is pressed in between the rotor bowl and cover plate by tightening a knurled nut. The bowl assembly is enclosed in a housing mounted on a cast body. The manually operated unit can be used both in the field and laboratory. In the manually operated unit, the gears are enclosed in a cast body. The solvent may be introduced tests through a cup on the housing cover.

BIS : 2386 (Part 1). For determining the flakiness index of aggregates. It consists of a panel having accurately cut slots of different standard lengths and width.
ASTM D88Say bolt Viscometer, Electrically Heated, ASTM D88, D244, AASHTO T72 for the empirical measurement of Say bolt Viscosity of petroleum products at specified temperatures between 70oF and 210oF. This is also used for determining the Saybolt Furol Viscosity of bituminous materials at temperatures of 250, 275, 300, 350, 400 and 450 F. It comprises one each of cylindrical Oil cup, Universal Tip, Furol Tip, Bath Fitted with immersion Heater mounted on a stand. Dimmer stat for temperature control, Stirrer with shield. Test Sieves 20 cm dia are fabricated out of spun brass, without joint frame, double folded bottom, having beading at top, tightly fitting with each other (Endcott Pattern), with brass wire mesh, our own brand. Three series are normally available: BSS/ASTM/BIS.

BIS-1199. The Flow Table is designed for determining the flow of Portland cement concrete.
The Flow Table top is 76.2 cm (30 inch) dia, finely machined Steel/Brass. The integral cast ribs designed for support and strength. The stand is fabricated out of cast iron and is of sturdy construction. Holes for mounting on foundations are drilled in the base plate. The ground has hardned steel cam is designed to drop the table by 12.5 mm.
A Flow Mould with handles, 12 cm height having 17 cm top internal diameter and 25 cm base diameter and a taping bar 16 mm dia x 60 mm long are also provided.

BIS 1607. Consists of a metal box mounted on legs and fitted with a series of chutes of equal width which discharge the material alternatively in opposite directions into separate pans. The chutes of the riffle are steep enough to allow rapid flowing of the material.
The apparatus consists of an epicyclical type stainless steel paddle imparting both planetary and revolving motion, by means of gears. It has two speeds of 140 + 5 R.P.M. And 285 +10 R.P.M. With planetary motions of approximately 62 r.p.m, +5 R.P.M. And 125 R.P.M. +/- 10 R.P.M. Respectively. The stand of the mixer has arrangement to raise or lower the bowl.
