CORD GUARD FLEXING TEST APPARATUS

Cord guard Flexing test designed as per IS: 302, IS:366, IS:1293 and all the international standards

How Test is Performed ?

For guards which do not comply with the dimensional requirement of this clause, a sample of the guard, together with the cable or cord delivered with the appliance, is to be subjected to 5000 cycles of flexing. The guard is mounted in the appliance with 60cm to 100cm length of cord. With the appliance held stationary, the guard is flexed by moving the cord back and forth in a plane through an angle of approximately 90 degree and 180 degree. At the end of the test, The guard and the cord shall slow no unusual signs of abrasion or wear.

Mixer Grinder Endurance Test

ForEndurance Test for Mixer Grinder, food-mixer shall be operated for 500 cycles with ON and OFF times as marked by the manufacture in case of food-mixers intended for intermittent operation. In case of short time rated food mixers, the appliance shall be operated for 500 cycles, the On time shall be as marked on the name plate and the Off time shall be the time required to return back to approximately ambient temperature. Food Mixers which can be operated at different speeds shall be operated ambient temperature. Appliances other than those for short time operation are started under normal load, 50 times at a voltage equal to 1.1 times the rated voltage and 50 times at a voltage 0.85 times the rated voltage, the duration of each period of supply being at least equal to ten times the time necessary from start to full speed, but not less than 10 seconds. Appliances provided with a centrifugal or other automatic starting switch are started 10000 times under normal load and at a voltage equal to 0.9 times the rated voltage, the operating cycles being that specified.

BALL PRESSURE TEST OVEN

It is used to test insulation materials used in Electrical wiring accessories, Electrical Appliances, luminaries, motors, connectors and non metallic components which are subjected for operating at above room temperature etc.

The test ensures that external parts of insulating material, the deterioration of which might cause the appliance to fail to comply with the relevant standards, are sufficiently resistant to heat.

How Test is Performed ?

Enclosures & other external parts of insulating material are subjected to the test. The ball pressure apparatus is designed to verify the quality & safety characteristics of products, as required by national & international standards. The sample to be tested is placed on a platform & the ball pressure apparatus is placed on top of it. The whole assembly is then placed inside an oven & maintained at the test temperature for the specified time period. After the test period, the sample & ball pressure apparatus are removed from the oven & cooled to room temperature. Finally, the depression created by the ball pressure apparatus in the sample due to softening of the sample is measured. The sample is said to comply with the requirements if the diameter of the impression does not exceed the value specified in the respective specifications.
