TheTRACKING INDEX APPARATUS from Sensors India was designed and manufactured to perform the test specified in the normIEC 60112(Method for determining the comparative and the proof tracking index of solid insulating materials under moist conditions) and many others standards ( ASTM D3638 12 , IS 2824) to determine compliance with safety requirements related to solid insulating materials under moist conditions. Itis designed to determine the resistance to tracking in insulating parts supporting live parts used for electrical accessories such as MCBs, switches, sockets, plugs etc. Using this test apparatus Proof Tracking Index Test and ComparativeTracking Index Test can be conducted with test results complete logging in excel file.

The inner body of the apparatus is made up of stainless steel & outer body is made up of mild steel. The reset switch is also available on the panel, where you can preset the desired no. of drops as per requirement. Tracking test indicates the relative resistance of solid insulating electric materials when submitted up to required test range. This method exposes the tested object to electric stress under water action with contaminant addition tracking may occur during test when voltage is activated on a defined disposition of electrodes on the material surface and electrolyte drops of salt solution are injected during a definite interval of time. The number of necessary drops to cause damage on the material increases with the reduction of the applied voltage. Under a critical value, tracking does not occur.

Cord Retention Test Apparatus

Cord Retention Test Apparatus for Plugs and portable socket-outlets shall be provided with a cord anchorage such that the conductors are relieved from strain, including twisting, where they are connected to the terminals or terminations, their covering being protected from abrasion. Cord Flexing Test Apparatus

In Cord Flexing Test Apparatus braided cords may be used. Polyvinyl chloride sheathed cords are only allowed for the connection to the supply mains of stands of cordless irons and for the separate water reservoir or boiler of steam irons. Polyvinyl chloride cords are not allowed for cordless irons that may also be directly connected to the supply mains during ironing

Instead of the load specified for the cord, the cord is loaded with a mass of 2 kg. Instead of the number of flexing specified, the number of flexing is 20000. The test is not carried out on cordless irons unless the iron can at so be directly connected to the supply mains during ironing.

For steam irons with a separate water reservoir or boiler, the test is made on the steam hose and the interconnection cord together. If they are contained in one sheath or otherwise attached to each other.

Impact Test Apparatus

The striking element has a hemispherical face of radius 10mm made of hardwood, polyamide or similar material weighing 0.15kg. It is rigidly fixed to the lower end of a steel tube with an external diameter of 9mm and thickness 0.5mm which is pivoted at its upper end in such a way that it swings only in the vertical plane of the axis of the striking element. The axis of the pivot is 1m above the axis of the striking element. The design of apparatus is such that a force between 1.0 N and 2.0 N has to be applied to the face of the hammer to maintain the pendulum in a horizontal position.

The appliance is held against a solid wall of bricks, concrete or the like, and the test apparatus is so arranged that the pivot of the pendulum is vertically above the point of impact of the hammer. The striking element is then allowed to fall form such a height of 250 mm. Apparatus

Glow Wire Test Apparatus consists of fine wire thermocouple, 0.5 mm diameter Cr/Al OR 1.0 mm Sensing Thermocouple. The testing device consists of a loop of resistance wire, electrically heated to the for high temperature specified for the relevant standards and maintained under specified pressure & time. A PID digital temperature indicator with controller. The range of this control is 1000 Deg C. An auto current source use also provided with a CT operated ammeter, which is capable of delivering up to 150A for heating in loop. Besides that moving specimen holder trolley is pre-loaded with a force of 0.8 to 1.2 N against Glow Wire. Mechanical stopper limits movement of the tip of The Glow Wire in to the specimen to maximum permitted with scale to measure penetration depth. Smoke Density Test Apparatus

The apparatus is designed to measure the smoke density from the burning or decomposition of plastics as per the requirement of the ASTM D 2843 standard. The apparatus consists of smoke chamber and control console. The white background will permit observations of the flame, smoke and burning characteristics of the material. The viewing of the exit sign help to correlate the visibility and measured values. The specimen is supported on a 64 m.m. base and is equidistant from all sides of the chamber. The screen will lie on a stainless steel bezel supported by a rod through the right side of the chamber. From the same rod a similar bezel located.This rod supports a square of asbestos paper which cactus any material that drip from the specimen during the test. By rotation of the specimen holder rod, the burning specimen is quenched in a shallow pan of water positioned below the specimen holder. At the above location and out side the chamber tubular boxes containing the light source with necessary lens and mirror on one side and a special photocell with a set of baffles to prevent stray light, on the other side are provided. The light source is fitted inside the tubular box on the left hand side of the chamber. The source consists of a lamp with a regulated power supply fitted with a reflector mirror, and a converging lens. The reflector lens arrangements make the light beam on the photocell housed in the right hand side box. The percentage of light absorbed will be displayed through a linear amplifier digital electronic photometer with 0% to 100% absorbency scale with auto calibration system.
