When it comes to economical winding or unwinding, the button shaft is a proven favorite. These popular shafts are both versatile and affordable, using steel buttons as gripping elements and constructed of standard steel, alloy steel or aluminum. The Button Shaft delivers weight advantages, durability and full beam strength and is ideal for applications where maximum machine speeds and minimum down-time are required.
Button Shaft is designed for light- to medium-duty in 1 1/2" (38mm) to 6" (152mm) ID cores. This shaft is best known as an unwind shaft, but it performs equally as well when used in rewind applications.
Load your roll onto this full-length Strip Air Shaft and experience the perfect combination of balance and torque. These advanced shafts have a two-piece expanding element body design, non-metallic retraction springs, durable poly bladder, and a fail-safe multi-circuit air system, with check valves to ensure that a loss of air in one element will not affect the expansion and performance of the other elements.
Strip Shaft is designed for medium- to heavy-duty in 3" (76mm) to 6" (152mm) ID cores. This shaft's full-length strip design delivers full length grip and excellent torque characteristics, making it ideal for medium- to heavy- duty unwind and rewind applications.
Advanced strip design delivers ideal combination of balance and torque.
Options:
Quick jumbo roll changes without tools. Easily replaces existing reel spools (often utilizing existing machine and/or shaft components). Increase critical speeds and run heavier rolls without increasing core diameter. Load capacity is equal or greater than steel; wind larger rolls without increasing hoisting requirements. Easy, quick, and inexpensive to replace bladders and/or protective strips. Convenient air operation one valve supplies all bladders, but bladders react individually to guarantee roll security. Reduced deflection and minimized vibration.
Heavy Duty Mill Shafts manufactured for use in production of jumbo Rolls Tissue and Paper Industry , Steel industry.
Heavy Duty Mill shaft manufactured in two types Lugs Type Or Multi tube Type.
Heavy Duty Mill Shafts are available in custom diameter, length. This shaft is dynamically balanced and precision ground & chromed to the most precise tolerances.
Technical Specifications:
Slitter Knife Shafts is manufactured from the high quality alloy steel. This shaft body is hard chrome plated and precision ground to match the inside diameter of your current anvils.
Slitter Knife Shafts are available in custom diameter, length. This shaft is dynamically balanced and precision ground & chromed to the most precise tolerances.
Outer Body which hold anvils or knives.
Technical Specifications:
Safety chuck is a quick coupling device used in shafted center wind & center unwind applications & saves loading-unloading time. Since driving mechanism (sprocket) does not need every time to be removed while changing shaft. It gives maintenance free working. Safety chucks provide for quick change at theend of production run (either winding or unwinding). Less around, the more cost efficient is your operation. They provide a means of transmitting torque to the roll you are winding or unwinding. Torque in the from a brake on the unwind side.
Core chucks are available in sizes 4", 5", 6", as part of the standard manufacturing program. The 3" is only available as a mechanical chuck since in most cases a 3" dia airshaft is better and more economical.
Chuck, for 6" cores, is the most popular chuck in our manufacturing program. It was designed with the help of some of our customers, safety being the main factor. Has an internal bladder protected by aluminum leaves, which protect the air bladder from being cut, and also limit the expansion of the chuck so it wont "blow-out" if inflated outside of a core. The gripping element is a tough rubber compound that will grip all types of cores. It is easily and economically replaced when worn. The LR6 chuck is available with adapters for many bore sizes, and is usually stocked in 2.950" bore for standard AIR SHAFTS. It is available with a double split collar clamp, a single split clamp, and a set screw lock. "Tie Tube option is available when multiple chucks are used in a single core. This allows numerous chucks to be inflated and deflated from the end chucks.
Normally chuck bores are supplied to a tolerance of plus .010" of the shaft size. This is in order for the chuck to run as true as possible and still be easily slid on or off a shaft. Closer tolerances are available when required. Adaptors are available for square shafts and small diameter shafts.
When ordering chucks for air shafts it is recommended that the shaft be checked for size, since shafts can be supplied with non common diameters.
NOTE:Air Chucks are the same as Air Shafts. They must be inflated to the correct air pressure to perform properly, use with low air pressure will cause the roll to slip and wear out the chuck. The recommended air pressure in the chuck is 85-90 psi or approx. 6 Bar. Use with lower pressure will void the waranty.
SATGURU manufactures air and mechanical core shafts for various newspaper presses such as Goss, Harris, King and others, along with shafts for various spillers such as Martin, Enkel, Butler and others.
Core Shafts can be supplied in Steel Body for heavy use, Aluminum for small rolls for lighter weight, and Carbon fiber. Carbon fiber is not usually recommended for Newspaper presses due to the rough use encountered in their field. Hardened journals for running on cam-followers and rollers are standard. Journals are manufactured from high strength 40 Ht steel and induction hardened as necessary in the wear area. Mechanical shafts are recommended for very high speed use, since they hold the rolls more concentric, reducing roll bounce. Mechanical shafts are more cumbersome to handle and are usually heavier than an air shaft.
Journals are made on our modern machines according to a precise tolerance. Low maintenance Lug type shafts are recommended for standard Press use. It gives the best grip with the least amount of maintenance required.
It is also the quickest to replace bladders when required .SATGURU air shafts have a rubber sleeve protecting the bladder. The sleeve holds the lugs in place while the bladder is removed and replaced, reducing any downtime to the minimum.
