the working surface ofsaraswati castingsshows the white graphite free structure consisting of eutectic carbide and transformed austentite. This gives a hard layer which confers good resistance to wear. The core and neck are made upon steel shaft in specialized double poured centrifugally cost chill rollers barrels.
compared to grey iron, whitesaraswati castingsis less soft, strong and incapable of withstanding high dynamic stresses, but owing to its greater hardness, has better wear-resistance, and has high compressive strength. It retains a fair proportion of its strength at elevated temperature, for example, in hot rolling. These make excellent work steel re-rolling mills, semi-automatic or automatic plants, wire roll plants, tmt plants, roughing mill rollers, intermediate definite chilled rollers
These rolls are manufactured in the sizes of 250mm to 360mm in diameter and length from 500mm to 600mm. The hardness of these rolls ranging from 60 degrees to 65 degrees shore C.
FINISHING STAND ROLLSThese rolls are manufactured in the sizes of 250mm to 360mm in diameter and length from 500mm to 600mm. The hardness of these rolls ranging from 70 degrees to 75 degrees shore C.
ROLLS FOR NON METAL INDUSTRIESRolls for non metal industries like Roller flour mills, Baking Industries, Rubber, Paint, Chemical, Printing Ink Machinery, Solvent Extraction Plants etc. ranging from Diameter 150mm to 600mm and length from 300mm to 1500mm. The hardness of these rolls is 60 degrees to 75 degrees shore C. The chill depth ranges between 15-50mm. The chill depth can be increased or decreased as per customer instructions.

lloyed rollers are special steels alloyed with nickel, chromium & molybdenum. which is used in breakdown, roughing & intermediate mills for finishing of heavy sections. these rollers are statically cast and undergo a three stage high temperature heat treatment comprising of annealing, normalizing & tempering rotation. the rollers are available in a wide variety of composition & properties to suit specific application.
The matrix structure is pearlitic or bainitic depending on the alloy content. changing the carbide distribution obatined through control of chemical composition varies the hardness. finishing rollers for sheet, plate and strip mills. intermediate and finishing rollers for small section, bar and wire rod mills. also used as cold mill rollers for ferrous and non-ferrous sheets
We manufacture roughing mill rolls from diameter 300 mm to 600 mm and length from 600mm to 1200mm. The hardness of these rolls ranging from 45 degrees to 55 degrees shore C.
The working surface ofSARASWATI CASTINGSshows the white graphite free structure consisting of eutectic carbide and transformed austentite. This gives a hard layer which confers good resistance to wear. The core and necks exhibit a tough grey structure, and the iron of the transition zone is mottled.
Compared to grey iron, white chill iron is less soft, strong and incapable of with standing high dynamic stresses, but owing to its greater hardness, has better wear-resistance, and has high compressive strength. It retains a fair proportion of its strength at elevated temperature, for example, in hot rolling . These make excellent work Rollers for two, three and four-high mills, turning out of high grade ferrous and non-ferrous sheet and strip or section. High Alloy Clear Chilled Rollers have proved well suited for the finishing stand of rod and light section mills, for continuous small and medium hot strip mills, and for strip mills of older design
Compared toSARASWATI CASTINGSwhere the chill-zone is graphite-free clear white, Indefinite Roll is cast using such proportions of silicon, chromium, nickel and molybdenum that the working face is no longer completely white but contains a small amount of very finely divided graphite flakes gradually increasing from face to core with corresponding decrease in the amount of carbide. The Rollers are to ensure minimum sacrifice ofSARASWATI CASTINGSwhile achieving maximum functional depth.
The transition from Chill to graphite being more smooth, the gradual change in hardness associated with the indefinite-chill structure allows deeper grooving. Thus Indefinite Chill Rollers are superior in biting performance and have enough strength and resistance against thermal shock occuring at the time of accident in the rolling operation compared toSARASWATI CASTINGS
Roll of this type have hardness up to about 70 Shore C can be grooved for use in roughing and finishing stands, for processing sections such as T-bars and U-sections, and for roughing and intermediate Rollers of wire and rod mills.
