The Masterscan series carries the baton of all these desirable features, but now, thanks to innovative internal redesign, new features can be added and upgrades performed in the working environment, reducing downtime and increasing working flexibility. High levels of near surface resolution, penetrating power (450V pulser - square and spike) and excellent signal to noise ratio are key functions in the Masterscan range. The Equotip 550 is the most versatile all-in-one solution for portable hardness testing. The Leeb hardness principle is based on the dynamic (rebound) method and is best suited for on-site testing of heavy, large or already installed parts. The Portable Rockwell test principle follows the traditional Rockwell static test method which is particularly suited for scratch-sensitive, polished or thin parts as well as for profiles and pipes. Ultrasonic Contact Impedance (UCI) is suited for objects with any shape and heat-treated surfaces (weld inspection; heat affected zones). The Equotip Piccolo 2 and Bambino 2 are both suited for on-site hardness checks of metals where the test indentation should be as small as possible. The Equotip Piccolo 2 offers the same features for metal hardness testing, but offers additionally user defined hardness conversions and the Proceq invented software Piccolo.

The Diverse MF300H+ hand held, battery operated Magnetic Field Meter with a rugged stainless steel Hall effect probe suitable for both laboratory and workshop use. The meter uses a membrane key pad and a digital display which makes it simple to operate but at the same time offers the ability to do complex measurements. A wide range of settings, measurement modes and units can be set by the user through the menu driven user interface. The operating modes allows magnetic measurements in most industrial and laboratory applications. Auto zero can be requested at any time by the press of a single key. Measurements of magnetic fields together with the selected units and a linear scale are displayed on the instrument. Operating modes are average, absolute peak, bipolar peak and true RMS. There is a built-in data logger that can collect 100 samples in the chosen measurement mode and at a selectable rate. The results can be viewed on screen or optionally downloaded via the serial RS232USB interface. Software for use with the meter is provided with the serial option which enables data to be saved and entered in spreadsheets.

Magnetic inspection often calls for the use of a specified level of magnetic flux within steel components. If the magnetic flux level is too low, then defects may be overlooked: if too high then spurious indications may occur. The MF300B has been produced to measure the magnetic flux density just below the surface. The magnetic flux is measured simply by placing the probe on the surface of interest. The monitor will measure constant or alternating magnetic flux which can be produced by permanent magnets, electromagnets or electric currents. The measured value is displayed in units of Tesla. Measurements of magnetic flux are displayed on the unit and can also be sent via an RS232 link to a P.C. Software for use with the meter is provided which enables data to be saved and entered in spreadsheets.

To address the need to measure the amount of ferrite in a sample the Welding Research Council introduced the Ferrite Number (FN) as a standardised value which related to the ferrite content of an equivalently magnetic weld metal. The volume percentage of ferrite can be estimated as about 70% of the FN but the relationship depends upon the type and origin of the stainless steel used and the measurement technique. The Diverse Ferrite meter MF300F+ measures the Ferrite number (FN) of austenitic and duplex stainless steel weld material. It has a probe that is sensitive to ferrite content in a 10 mm area to a depth of approximately 1 mm. The instrument is calibrated using the secondary world standards held at The Welding Institute. All 16 standards are used in the calibration giving an instrument with a measurement range from 0 to 115 FN. Transfer standards are supplied with the instrument allowing performance to be verified at any time.
