Rail Pads

The Primary function of the rail pad traditionally has been that of a conforming resilient member between the as-rolled surface of the rail, and the as-cast surface of the rail seat of the concrete sleeper. It also provides an electric insulation between these two surfaces. However in today's environment where the axle loads and speeds are being increased to 32.5 tons and 180 kmhr. respectively on Indian Railways, other requirements have gained importance and dynamic performance of the rail pads have become the main criteria of design, development and selection adoption. The rail pads are developed in collaboration with leading company of Australia to have High resilience, impact attenuating, wear and tear resistant properties. Our Australian partner is a specialized rubber product development company, who are world leaders in design and development of rubber isolators energy absorbers for railways and construction industry. The rail pads has been extensively tested and adopted by Australian Rail Track Corporation for high axle load, heavy haul freight train tracks.

Brake Cylinder

These cylinders consist of the cylinder barrel with compressed air connection and cylinder cover. Fitted in the cylinder are the piston with guide tube and the piston return spring. The piston packing seals off the working chamber from the cylinder chamber, which is not under pressure. The mounting bracket serves for attachment of the brake cylinder to the vehicle or bogie frame. The mounting bracket can be either permanently attached to the cylinder body or it cane be removal type. For brake application, compressed air is admitted to the piston moving it against the force of the compression spring. The piston rod is carried along at the same time and transmits the piston thrust to the brake rigging. For release the brake cylinder is exhausted and the compression spring moves the piston back into its initial position. The external rigging return spring provided in case of the B type cylinder ensures that the brake rigging with the piston rod follows the piston.

Angle Cocks

Angle Cocks are used in air braked rail vehicles to isolate the brake pipe and or main reservoir pipe at the ends of the vehicle. They are installed at both ends of the vehicle. If the angle cocks are closed, the connected hoses are vented so that the hoses can be uncoupled without any danger. The angle cock housing has a rubber seal and a spherical design cock bolt segment. As we move the handle to closed position the cock bolt rotates and is in contact with sealing ring thereby interrupting the communication between the vehicle mounted pipe and the coupling hoses. The coupling hose pressure is vented to atmosphere through vent cap exhaust holes. When the cock bolt is operated in open position the hollow section of the cock bolt flushes with the direction of the flow thereby permitting an unobstructed air passage. In order to prevent an intermediate cock position handle is provided with a snap action device ensuring that the handle always takes one of the end positions.

Heat Insulation Foil

The main reason for build up of heat in a building sheds godowns is due to radiation. The heat build up can be effectively reduced by providing reflective insulation as this product reflects the heat back and does not allow flow of radiant heat inwards.Radiant Barrier or Reflective Insulation is, in general, a layer of foil facing an airspace, installed in the envelope of a structure. Such systems are very effective in impending radiant heat transfer and consequent heat loss gain.In order to reduce the green house gas emission one of the major steps that can be taken is to reduce the affect of radiant heat build up in buildings. This heat build up can be effectively reduced by providing reflective insulation, as this product reflects back 97% of the radiant heat and does not allow heat flow inwards. The radiant barrier work on a simple and proven principle. Heat like light travels primarily by radiation and not by convection (air currents) or conduction (contact) and just like light, the flow of heat can be reversed by simple reflection. The heat transmission from the roof is by radiant heat. We effectively eliminate radiant heat with our insulation foil Silver Ceil Silver Sark Metafoil and even if the foil is hot it does not transmit heat. The operating temperature inside the room is reduced by up to 10C on a hot day.

Slack Adjuster

The Slack Adjuster DRV 2A 450 600 is a Brake Slack Adjuster i.e. a device for automatic adjustment of the clearance between brake blocks and wheels. It is built into the brake rigging as a part of a pull rod. This slack adjuster is double acting and rapid working i.e. it quickly adjusts too large or too small clearances to the predetermined value, it has been set to maintain.

Air Reservoir

At Sanrok we manufacture and supply Air Reservoirs for Air Brake Systems. An air reservoir for an air brake system is provided. The air reservoir includes a housing that has a first air chamber, a second air chamber, and a supply air chamber. A first valve is disposed between the supply air chamber and the first air chamber and is configured to allow air to flow from the supply air chamber to the first air chamber. A second valve is disposed between the supply air chamber and the second air chamber and is configured to allow air to flow from the supply air chamber to the second air chamber. Design and Function A compressed air brake system is divided into a supply system and a control system. The supply system compresses, stores and supplies high-pressure air to the control system as well as to additional air operated auxiliary truck systems (gearbox shift control, clutch pedal air assistance servo, etc.).

The air compressor is driven off of the engine either by crankshaft pulley via a belt or directly off of the engine timing gears. It is lubricated and cooled by the engine lubrication and cooling systems. Compressed air is first routed through a series of cooling coils and into an air dryer. The dryer device removes moisture and oil impurities and also may include a pressure regulator and safety valve. As an alternative to the air dryer, the supply system can be equipped with an anti freeze device and oil separator. The compressed air is then stored in a storage reservoir (also called a primary tank) from which it is then distributed via way protection valves into the front and rear brake circuit air tanks, parking brake air tank and an auxiliary equipment air tank. The system also includes various check, pressure limiting, drain and safety valves.
