Organic Pulses SuppliersPulses are also known as legumes or lentils. Pulses are seeds from the legume plant family and lentils are a pulse. Legumes (beans) are among the oldest cultivated plants. In fact, fossil records demonstrate that prehistoric people domesticated and cultivated legumes for food. Today, this extremely large category of vegetables contains over 13, 000 species and is second only to grains in supplying calories and protein to the world's population. There are various types of pulses which differ in colour, shape, size and taste. Pulses are important food crops due to their high protein and essential amino acid content. Like many leguminous crops, pulses play a key role in crop rotation due to their ability to fix nitrogen.
The word spice comes from the Old French word espice, which became epice and latter SPICE!! A spice is a dried seed, fruit, root, bark, or vegetative substance primarily used for flavoring, coloring or preserving food. A spice may be available in several forms: fresh, whole dried, or pre-ground dried. Generally, spices are dried. Since spices tend to have strong flavors and are used in small quantities, spices tend to add few calories to food, even though many spices, especially those made from seeds, contain high portions of fat, protein, and carbohydrate by weight. Many spices, however, can contribute significant portions of micronutrients to the diet. India produces 70% of global spice production. At Sanjeevani we have introduced organic farming of following Spices: Sanjeevani features Organic Ajwain which has a pleasant aromatic taste having ground-grey to greyish brown in colour used mainly as a flavoring agent in culinary, household as well as to prepare home made medicines in case of cold and indigestion. These seeds are free from living insects, mites and moulds and are free from any dead insects, fragments and rodent contamination. The Ajwain is machine cleaned before packing to ensure its purity and hygiene.
"Vegetable" comes from the Latin vegetabilis and from vegetare which is derived from vegetus, in reference to the process of a plant growing. In culinary terms, a vegetable is an edible plant or its part, intended for cooking or eating raw. In biological terms, "vegetable" designates members of the plant kingdom. The non-biological definition of a vegetable is largely based on culinary and cultural tradition. Apart from vegetables, other main types of plant food are fruits, grains, and nuts. Vegetables are most often consumed as salads or cooked in savory or salty dishes, while culinary fruits are usually sweet and used for desserts, but it is not the universal rule.
