POLYPROPYLENE (PP)

Polypropylene (PP) is a thermoplastic from the polyolefin group. It is a semi-rigid, translucent polymer with good toughness and weather resistance properties, low water absorption and is easily moulded to desired shapes. PP is a largely non-polar, partially crystalline thermoplastic with a crystallinity of 60 to 70% and a density of 0.90 to 3 0.91 g/cm which is amongst the lowest for all plastics. It is generally available in three advanced forms:

PP-Homopolymer (PP-H):Produced by a continous chain of polypropylene units which results in a high stiffness material. Advanced homopolymer types like beta nucleated PP, are used to make piping systems and sheets.

PP-Copolymer (PP-C):Produced by adding 4-15% ethylene to the polypropylene gives much improved impact strength and considerably lowers the brittle point to below normal service temperatures i.e. -15C to -20C.

PP Random Copolymer (PP-R):Random copolymer polypropylene is a clear, semi-crystalline polymer which exhibits high stiffness, better impact strength and good electrical insulation properties.
Other options in PP include fire retardant and electro-conductive grades. PP can also be UV stabilized.

Features & advantages of PP:Suitable for underground pipes through adjustment to local ground movementExcellent Chemical Resistance: Increases reliability and scope of useHigh Thermal Resistance: Less vulnerable to weatheringHigh Stress Crack Resistance: Prevents inching growth of cracksExcellent Fusion Capabilities: Ease of installationLow density, Low weight: Ease of transportationHomogenous structure: Aesthetically superiorGood elasticity: Easy installationNon Toxic, Food GradeHigh Impact Strength: Better durabilitySmooth Inner surface: Low frictional lossGood Thermal insulationVery good fatigue resistanceExcellent dielectric properties

NovaLene PP Sheets

Polypropylene is a semi-rigid, translucent polymer with good toughness and weather resistance properties. It is a largely non-polar, partially crystalline thermoplastic with a crystallinity of 60 to 70%. PP has a density of 0.90 to 0.91 g/cm3 which is amongst the lowest densities for all plastics. NovaLene sheets are made in 3 basic grades for application based usage - in PP-Homopolymer (PPH), PP-copolymer (PP-C) & PP Random Copolymer (PP-R). PP has replaced a lot of traditional materials of construction including metals, wood and concrete in a variety of applications.

NovaRene HIPS Sheets

NovaRene PS Sheets are made from polystrene which is an aromatic polymer made from aromatic monomer styrene, a liquid hydrocarbon that is commercially manufactured from petroleum by the chemical industry. Polystyrene is one of the most widely used kinds of plastic. Solid polystyrene in forms of sheets etc is used, for e.g, in disposable cutlery, plastic models, CD and DVD cases, and smoke detector housings. The two different grades of PS , GPPS and HIPS offer a variety of solutions and are chosen depending on impact resistance required in the sheets. High impact polystyrene can be assembled with mechanical fasteners, solvents, or adhesives. HIPS is FDA compliant for use in food processing.
