ASTM B163 Inconel Alloy 600 is a nickel-chromium alloy which can be hot/cold formed where hot working should be performed between 1600° F and 2250° F. Inconel Alloy 601 is nickel chromium heat resisting alloy which works outstanding at temperatures up to about 1200°C. It has good aqueous corrosion resistance due to the high nickel, chromium content, good resistance to carburising & nitriding. Inconel 601 has good strength, toughness, ductility and can be used at cryogenic temperatures. It can be sensitised to inter granular corrosion in some aggressive media after heating in the temperature range 540 – 760°C.
