About Samiran Tea Industry SAMIRAN TEA INDUSTRY was started in 1995 for producing the Quality Green leaf in our own firm “NAMRIPODHI” and has started producing, packing and marketing in 2006. At present having two more firms viz. KATHONIBARI and MADURALI the Industry is pleased to introduce itself as a QUALITY PRODUCER all over the India. Besides producing ORGANIC GREEN LEAVES in all our three firms we are producing CTC tea also from bought-leaf. About Tea Estate along with photos:- We are following sustainable organic tea cultivation practices as per IFOAM standards and no chemical fertilizer, pesticide or herbicides were ever applied in our tea estate. We are one of the few 100% organic tea estates in India which is following organic practices since the very beginning rather than converting them from chemical cultivation at a later stage. The biggest challenge for a small tea grower in maintaining an organic tea estate is- control, particularly in the rainy season. The soil of the tea estate is very fertile due to the fact that we have been using organic formulations like vermi compost and worm compost to improve the soil quality. Since we don't apply any chemical herbicides, the control process has to be done completely manually. And in the rainy season, we have to employ a huge amount of workers to remove the weeds manually from under the tea bushes. This is a very tedious and labour intensive work. But, due to our commitments to offer our customers the most natural organic tea in the market, we have been taking out-most care to make sure that the right organic tea cultivation practices are followed all the time at any circumstances. We have also formulated our own organic alternative to chemical herbicides and pesticides to fight weeds and insects. Our organic formulations are based on ancient Indian agricultural practices which depends heavily on cow dungs, cow urine, and some of the indigenous medicinal plants available in Assam mixed together to be applied on the tea leaves as well as the soil.
