Water Flow Meter

Electromagnetic flow meter is used to measure flow rates of conducting fluids. It is used to measure flow rates of slurries, corrosive and abrasive fluids. Electromagnetic flow meter is also used to measure bidirectional flows by reversing connections, which can be done automatically. advantages of electromagnetic flow meterthese meters do not cause obstruction to flow and hence cause no pressure drop. For measurements, it does not matter whether the flow is laminar or turbulent. It gives accurate results. Its reliability is high, that is, it gives a standard performance for an elongated period. It can handle greasy materials and fluids containing suspended solids. The measurement is independent of viscosity, density, temperature and pressure. basic principlewhen a flowing conducting fluid is subjected to a transverse magnetic field, the flowing conducting fluid cuts the magnetic field and causes a voltage to be induced. This induced voltage is proportional to the fluid velocity, that is, flow rate. constructionthe main parts of this instrument are as followsa conducting fluid is flowing through a non-magnetic and non-conducting pipe, whose flow rate is to be measured. Two electrodes are attached in opposite sides of pipe carrying the conducting fluid. These electrodes are in contact with the flowing conducting fluid.the pipe is surrounded by an electromagnet, which produces a magnetic field. Operation of a magnetic flow meterthis magnetic flow meter is based on faradys law of induced voltage which is given as follows :e = blv where, e = induced voltage(volts)b = flux density (gauss)l = length of conductor which is the diameter of the pipe (cm)v = average velocity of conductor (fluid) in cm/secwhen the conducting fluid flows through the pipe that is subjected to a magnetic field, the conducting fluid cuts the magnetic field and due to this, a voltage is induced. As the magnetic field is constant, voltage obtained across the electrodes will be directly proportional t average fluid velocity and diameter (length) and hence becomes a measure of volume flow rate. limitations of magnetic flow meterthe fluid whose flow rate is to be measured should satisfy certain conduction conditions.the fluid should be full in the pipe to get accurate results.air and gas bubbles in the fluid will cause errors.when certain fluids, the electrodes might get coated with scales and this will affect the output signal. However, this can be taken care of by cleaning the electrodes.in many cases, the output voltage is low and hence requires amplification.

Electromagnetic Flow Meters

We are offering electromagnetic flow meters. Types : electromagnetic flow metersvortex flow metersturbine flow metersrotametersvariable area flow metersdescription : sakthi full bore meter is a cost effective flow meter for conductive liquids such as raw water, effluents, potable water and industrial chemical. Using time proven electromagnetic flow metering principle, sakthi flow meters are available for pipes from nb to 12 nb. Since there are no moving parts, the flow meter gives years of maintenance free service. Its performance is independence of temperature, pressure, density and viscosity of medium. The flow meter is obstruction less and hence the pressure drop is almost negligible. Addmas has all the features required in field mountable metering equipment. These include-weather proof flame proof enclosure, rs485 communication option , with 4 to 20 ma isolated current output for flow signal transmission option for process control. The converter is available as field mounted ip65 protection category. An optional batching controller also available on request.Name : flow meters watermodelarticle no : emf-04minimum order : 1manufacure name :sakthi faradays law of electromagnetic induction. A magnetic field is generated by magnetic coil. The fluid flowing through this magnetic field generates emf (voltage) which is proportional to the flow velocity. This emf is measured by the electrodes giving corresponding output. Used for precision measurement of any conducting liquid or slurry that is flowing in closed pipes. High accuracy flow metering optional digital transmission 2 line alpha numeric back lit display no pressure drops in process. Line size 15 nb to 300 nb accuracy = 1% of reading flow range 0.5 to 10 ms easy maintenance as no moving parts min.conductivity : 5 uscm output :4-20 ma, relay and rs485 protection : cast aluminum lp65 field wall mounted process temp: + 150 degree max. Lining : ptfe rubber pp
