Further, the De chlorinated water is passed through water softener to remove hardness.

Water Source
Water should be collected from the source which should be well protected, available easily, un-contaminated. Sources can be anything viz. Bore well water Line, Closed Ring Well, Municipal Supply Line or Other source where treatment is possible.
Water Transfer
Water is transferred to Raw Water Storage Tanks using proper pumping system and un-contaminating piping work. Either Submersible Pump or surface mounted Centrifugal pump can be used with good quality UPVC or CPVC or SS piping can be used for this application.

Water Testing Facility
Purified Water is tested using IN HOUSE Water Testing laboratory Where Chemical and Micro Biologically Water is tested for Chemical and Micro Biological parameters. For this, a complete full fledge Water Testing CHEMICAL and MICRO BIOLOGICAL Lab is required. However, water is also tested for Pesticide and Radio-nuclear parameters in outside Bureau of Indian standards approved laboratory.

Cation exchange & Anion exchange use the chemical ion exchange process to exchange anions or cations on a Resin Bed for cations & anions of the contaminant that needs to be removed from the water.
The cations & anions on the resins are eventually exhausted & replaced by the cations & anions of the contaminant being removed. When this occurs, the bed must be backwashed using a concentrated solution of the base cation or anion. Which recharges the bed & flushes the built-up contaminant.
Cation exchange can be used to treat for Calcium, Magnesium (i.e. Hardness), Sodium, Al, Fe etc., whereas anion exchange can be used to treat for Chloride, Sulphate, Nitrate & Alkalinity etc. Demineralization of water above 600 to 700 ppm Total Dissolved Solids may be uneconomical.

When two aqueous solutions of different concentrations are separated by a semi permeable membrane, naturally occurring osmotic pressure forces dilute solutions into the concentrated solution. This natural phenomena is called Osmosis which continues until equilibrium between the two solutions is reached.
The flows natural direction can be reversed by applying pressure greater than the osmotic pressure to the concentrated solution. This process of reversal of solvent flow in known as Reverse Osmosis (RO).
Maintenance of RO involves the replacement of RO membrane & pre-filter cartridge.
The price of any Reverse Osmosis System should be related to output and quality of water processed. Output depends on membrane size & construction, feed water quality and pressure. Quality of water is the percentage of purity claimed. Normally if TDS is increased over the amount the system is design for then the output capacity diminishes.
