S.M.E. Mica Heaters are specifically designed for your Injection and Extrusion machines. These heaters are custom made with Nickle -Chromium Resistance wire wound on Premium quality of Mica. Standard sheath material is S.S.304; Other sheath material like Zinc Platted M.S. or Brass is also available.

S.M.E. Ceramic Heaters are specifically designed to replace and upgrade your Mica Band Heaters on your Injection and Extrusion machines. The body of the Ceramic Band heater is constructed of precision made segmented ceramics, which add flexibility and allow for easy installation. The ceramics are covered with insulation, which serves to lower the shroud temperatures and concentrates the heat towards the barrel. The end results are less wasted energy, a lower wattage requirement and a longer heater life. An additional metal jacket withCERAMIC FIBRE INSULATIONinside it is wrapped around the heater to arrest the heat losses from the outer surface of the heater. This results in about20 % of energy saving.

Depending upon the Volt and Wattage a suitable size of the resistance wire is selected as per the recommendation of the resistance wire manufacturer. The coil of the wire is then passed through the ceramics to get a bed of the ceramics .The size of the bed depends on the dia and the width of the heater. This bed is then fitted into S.S. 304 sheath after Al.foil and insulation. The element wire is terminated on a brass strip from where the lead wires are taken out further. These strips are covered with a ventilated terminal box. The heater is provided with a clamping device, which has a Cap Screw for easy, and even tightening of the heater on the barrel. A metallic jacket containing ceramic fibre is then wrapped around the heater |
Cartridge Heaters (Low Density)
Low Density Cartridge Heaters are made of helically wound nickel chrome resistance wire evenly stretched and placed in ceramic insulators. The element assembly is inserted into Brass / SS 304 tube. High grade MgO powder is filled in the remaining space inside the ceramic insulator to increase thermal conductivity, dielectric strength and heater life.

Drum Heaters are ideal for heating materials that require sensitive temperature control. Each unit heats and thermostatically controls the air temperature around the sides of the drum. This eliminates many of the problems associated with heaters that come into direct contact with the drum or contents. These heaters are available in a variety of voltages and wattages in both single and three phase
240 V / 440 V standard AC Supply.Temperature controlled with thermostat.Insulated for heat losses. Both the heaters are movable on castors.Easy to use.Economical to operate.Half drum heaters are also available. Catalog No. SME-FDHThermostat ControlSupply Cord: 3 meters long. |

Circulation heaters combine with a tank, insulation, terminal enclosure, mounting brackets, inlet, and outlet connections to form a complete assembly. Circulation heaters, therefore, provide a ready-made means to install electric heating with a minimal amount of time and labor.
Circulation heaters are designed to force circulated liquids (air and gases may also be appropriate depending upon the application) over a heating element. Circulation heaters are ideal for either in-line or side-arm operations. By using heating elements, these circulation heaters deliver fast response and even heat distribution.
Circulation heaters maintain the high performance capabilities for which all heaters are known. Circulation heaters are rated up to one megawatt , generating watt densities up to 120 W/in2 and sheath temperatures of up to 1600F (depending upon sheath material). The tanks are insulated with one inch of thermal insulation rated to 750F to reduce heat loss. A heavy gauge steel jacket protects the entire assembly. A wide range of sheath materials, wattages, vessel sizes and materials, pressure ratings, terminal enclosures and controls are available to the circulation heaters to meet virtually all your circulation heater assembly needs.

These are thin metal sheath heaters hinged for ease of opening . These are further provided with a spring to hold them tight on the drum. Each heater is provided with a 3 meter long flexible cord. Although these are quite strong but these have to be handled carefully to avoid damage. These are low cost compared to Jacket type drum heaters.
The SME base drum heaters are manufactured in all metal construction and have thermostat control for temperature regulation upto 300 deg. C. The heat loads are purposely kept low to provide even and mild heating. Most of the chemicals. Adhesives require fairly mild heating Standard Base drum heater has approx. 22 diameter over which all types of drums can be kept. Certain materials do require heating from bottom and hence this arrangement is ideal.

These are custom designed in a various shapes to address clients requirements for direct immersion in liquids such as water, oils, solvents and process solutions, molten materials as well as air and gases. Tubular heaters are produced using Incoloy, stainless steel or Copper sheath materials and also there is huge variety of selection of termination styles available. Insulation of Magnesium offers greater heat transfer. Tubular heaters can be used in any application. Straight tubular can be inserted in machined groves for conductive heat transfer and formed Tubular provides consistent heat in any type of special application.
