Dynamic Hardness Tester

Measuring Principle

Dynamic Hardness Tester is an extremely light weight, portable, fast & reliable hardness tester based on a novel, dynamic & Rapid test procedure with widest measuring ranges for metals.A carbide tipped shuttle with a definite kinetic energy is impacted on the specimen. A part of this energy absorbed by the specimen and is a function of the hardness of the specimen. A tubular device housing electrodynamic energy measuring device carries out the impacting of the shuttle. A measuring instrument receives the signal, equivalent to absorbed energy through a cable and displays with instant calculations. This displays Dynamic hardness (D) a three digit figure, which is proportional to the hardness of the specimen. The machine has built inconversion facility for given material to convert D value to Vickers, Rockwell, Brinell scales which can be selected by pressing keys.

ApplicationIn stores for Material identification.Measurement of Hardness in confined spaces.Variation in hardness over large work piece.Large & heavy components.Permanently installed parts.Surface hardened component or hardness on coatings.

Poldi Hardness Tester

FEATURES:
The hammer type Poldi impact Hardness Tester is suitable for measuring the Brinell Hardness of Steel , Cast iron , Brass Aluminium. Copper etc. This Poldi Hardness Tester is useful to test parts where bench type model is not useful. This type of machine is most ideal and simple for foundries, Workshops , Engineering Colleges, Technical Institutions etc.

PRINCIPLE

Load is applied by a hammer blow on the specimen and a standard test bar in linear direction through a hardened steel ball of 10 mm dia. The impact load on both is the same . The extent of indentation on the specimen and the test bar depends on their hardness. The two diameters of indentations on test bar and specimen are measured by a magnifier supplied alongwith the tester. The hardness of the specimen can be determined, by referring got the chart supplied with the machine.

TECHNICAL DATA:

Hardened Steel Ball:-10 mm dia , fixed in a special holderwith a spring loaded plunger.

Standard Test Bar:Each bar individually calibrated and Multiplying Factor marked thereon.

Magnifier:-Measuring range 10 mmScale graduation 0.1 mmMagnification 10xAccuracy of measurement 0.05 mm

Hardness Tables:-Comparison tables for finding hardness Separate Tables for Steel, Cast iron , BrassCopper and Aluminium.

These machines are designed and manufactured for very high accuracy, reliability and ease of operation. The selection of load is effected with the push button control system. The measurements of diagonal / diameter of indentation is done with the help of built-in optical system with graduated readout with Micrometer. After taking indentation on the work piece, the objective lens is automatically swivelled into position and image of indentation appears on the focusing screen fitted in front of the machine. A push button is provided for starting the laoding cycle and unloading is accomplished through hand lever. This machine conforms to IS 1754 -2002 for Vickers and IS 2281 -2005, BS-240 for Brinell Test.
