It is possible with SIKUMAT Torque Limiters to utilise the axial movement during an overload occurrence to actuate a proximity switch so that when the preset limit torque is exceeded, the drive can be switched off electrically andor a signal can be triggered. Switching off the drive in case of overload is essential for all ratcheting type SIKUMAT Torque Limiters in order to prevent ratcheting over prolonged periods and possible wear. The engagement travel of the SIKUMAT Torque Limiters can be found in the respective tables. Non-contact proximity switches operate free from wear and guarantee faster response times than mechanical limit sensors.

All brakes can be supplied on request with an electrical wear indicator which signals the limit of the friction block wear. The Housing Freewheel FCBM is used to control reverse rotation of the kiln when a rotary kiln drive is shut down. It is equipped with a Cage Freewheel on the main shaft and a multi-disc brake as well as a centrifugal brake on the worm shaft.When the rotary kiln drive is shut down, the Cage Freewheel automatically engages the main shaft and the worm shaft. The closed multi-disc brake prevents reverse rotation of the rotary kiln. Through electromagnetic or manual releasing of the multi-disc brake, the controlled reverse rotation of the rotary kiln is then initiated. Irreversible Locks IR are bidirectional acting roller freewheels with bearing support. Intermediate Flanges are used as adapters between machine connections in accordance to DIN 55026, sizes A5, A6 or A8 (see the machine connection table) and the RINGSPANN Complete Clamping Fixtures. Spring Force Actuators FUSR connect RINGSPANN Precision Clamping Fixtures to the spindles of balancing machines as clamping force unit. The component is clamped by activating the Precision Clamping Fixture with the belleville springs of the Spring Force Actuator. Release is effected via the machine-side plunger, which counteracts the spring force.
