Fabric Expansion Joint

Another expertise of REX is to manufacture Fabric Expansion joints (bellows) of virtuallyany size & shape, from a range of proven standard constructions or designed especially for defined application.

It is essential that all the relevant parameters and conditions affecting Expansion Joints are taken into account. REX has three basic types of Multi-Layer construction to meet the various needs of our customers

Type 1 :

for clean air systems: ranging from simple air intake/exhaust on fans and blowers to high temperature air discharge from heaters.

Type 2 :

for gas with low acid content: used on Gas Turbine Exhaust and less

Fabric expansion joints can be supplied fully assembled and fitted to support steelwork ready for insertion into ductwork.

Type 3 :

for gas with high acid content: for use in environments where the flue gas contains acids at temperature or acids that can form due to condensation at shut down.

Acid barriers are either PTFE impregnated glass cloth or PTFE foil thermally welded to ensure tight seal.

Multi-layer fabric temperature range is from -50C and 1090C with a standard pressure range of 120" W.G

An important difference in the REX Multi-Layer Fabric is that we do not rely on an insulation pillow to reduce the temperature in contact with the element.

The Multi-Layer Fabric is always designed to withstand the temperature regardless of secondary insulation pillow.

Many competitive designs rely on this insulation pillow for primary protection of their element with disastrous results after several temperature cycles.

Insulation Jacket

Adpole Gasket

Our Tadpole gaskets are designed to provide a high temperature thermal seal in industrial laboratory, commercial and residential ovens and dryers with a maximum continuous operating temperature of 1000F / 540C. Constructed with Type E fiberglass, the bulb may be filled with various constructions of either fiberglass or stainless steel in order to achieve the proper design compression.

Additionally, the bead of the tadpole may also be filled to accommodate various door constructions. Textile engineering coupled with our heat treating and coating expertise, allow for a wide variety of constructions in order to meet unique environmental and design constraints.

Vermiculite Coated Fiberglass Cloth

This high temperature, heat and flame resistant thermal insulating vermiculite coated fiberglass fabric will withstand temperatures of 1500F / 815C continuous exposure and is capable of withstanding temperatures of 2000F / 1093C for short periods.

The base High Temperature fiberglass fabric is fabricated from high quality type E fiberglass that will not burn. The fabric is then coated with a vermiculite dispersant.

This material resists most acids and alkalis and is unaffected by most bleaches and solvents. It is highly flexible and conformable.

Applications:

Common application include welding spark protection blankets/ curtains, plumbers pads, fire protection, insulation mattress/jacket cover material, high temperature fabric seals.

REX Graphite Rings are manufactured normally in a range of densities from 1.2 g/cc to 1.8 g/cc with carbon content ranging from 99% to 99.85% Corrosion and Oxidation resistant grades and PTFE impregnated grades also supplied. Flexible and highly impermeable to gases and liquids. Metal tipped graphite molded rings to customer drawings are available for high pressure/anti extrusion applications.

These rings have high thermal conductivity and dont contain any Adhesives or Binders and have self lubricating properties and is therefore virtually maintenance free.

Flexible Graphite Sheet

Slade starts with special patented yarns. The yarns are reinforced with flattened strips of stainless steel and totally encapsulated in flexible graphite (fig. 1). We weave these yarns into sheets 80 wide (lengths: 80, 160 and higher).

The woven design produces a metallic leaf-spring effect (fig. 2), developed to deform easily to fill voids, scratches and warped surfaces. Once compressed, they form a tough but resilient graphite sheet. The sheet cuts easily despite their toughness.
