The DCB-GS range of flexible couplings is a second generation coupling derived from Renold Couplings existing DCB range.
DCB-GS couplings have low weight and hence low inertia yet retain the unrivalled quality and endurance features of the standard DCB.
The coupling has been designed with the technical characteristics require on Diesel Powered generator sets from 50kW and above. It is also suitable for Pump and Compressor applications.
The highly flexible VF coupling has been designed for diesel engines that are mounted separately from the marine gear and which can be placed on flexible mounts.These flexible mounts provide optimum isolation of the vibrations of the diesel engine from the hull.
The VF Coupling can dampen torsional vibrations, tune the torsional response of the system and absorb the unavoidable substantial misalignments between the engine and the gear, itis specially suitable for high speed diesel engines with SAE flywheels from 14 to 21 and for power take offs up to a torque of 18.0 kNm.

Renold Ajax is the leading North American manufacturer of Traction Couplings for Subway Rail Cars, having produced more than 20, 000 units over the past 35 years for use in many cities in the USA, Singapore, Malaysia, Brazil, and Korea.
Renold has analyzed measured wear rates of couplings in service and project a service life of over 8 million miles. In development of new designs, Renold uses a state of the art test cell, which can run the coupling up to full speed and full load, while changing the operating conditions to simulate the dynamics of actual operation on a subway car.
Springless, bump stop, and centering spring designs are available.
Renold's Ajax full line of universal joint assemblies range from 4 to 30+ inch diameters, with misalignment capabilities of up to 30 degrees.
Renold offers both Metric and English designs with standard slip centre sections, or special long travel assemblies are also available. Extensive stock of standard components permits same day shipment for many designs if required.
Closed eye, wing bearing and split eye designs are available. Four-point lubrication is optional on the smaller sizes and standard on the larger size assemblies.

Renold Ajax carries a full line of standard gear couplings that conforms to the AGMA gear coupling specification number.
They are offered in o-ring or metal seal designs, and include quality features such as fitted bolts, crowned and barreled teeth with tooth tip piloting, and forged steel components.
The Renold Ajax metal seal design coupling uses a unique method of seal retention that will not allow the seal to separate from the ring gear during operation. This seal design also allows a metal seal ring gear to easily be converted to an o-ring seal configuration and back to metal seal if needed.
Renold Ajax standard couplings also include a line of D- and DS-Series high misalignment couplings that are capable of operation at up to 6 degrees misalignment. The D-Series couplings use a piloted flange for connection while the DS-Series couplings have a detachable sleeve for connection in applications with a diameter restriction such as levelers.
Renold Ajax offers a dry metallic coupling that uses disc shaped flexible elements to accommodate misalignment. As such, there are no moving parts and no lubrication is required. This allows for many years of service with no routine maintenance required.
There are other notable virtues of the flexible disc coupling. It has high torsional stiffness, no backlash and low bending stiffness. Precise connections are provided with low shaft loads on the connected equipment. The flexible disc coupling also has excellent high-speed capability.
A unique design feature of the Renold Ajax Flexible Disc Coupling is that it has a unitized disc pack. This means that all the disc and bushings in the pack come pre-assembled and do not come apart. There are no loose parts to fumble with during assembly.
The Renold Ajax Flexible Disc Coupling is ideal for remote locations where routine maintenance can be a problem for a lubricated coupling. It can also be put in locations where high ambient temperature would cause problems for a coupling with non-metallic components.
Originally designed in the 1920s, the Ajax Pin and Bush Coupling is what gave the Westfield Division of Renold its start.
Simple and virtually indestructible, the pin and bush design is ideal for applications that involve safety, such as elevator drives or fire pumps. The fail-safe aspect of the design allows the coupling to be serviced at convenient intervals, should the elastomer become damaged.
The elastomer elements reduce vibration and dampen impact loads, as well as accommodate misalignment up to 0.5 degrees. The original bushing is a neoprene elastomer with a graphite impregnated bronze sleeve. These are still available, as well as a contemporary version of this concept: urethane bushings.
Renold also manufactures many custom variations of this coupling including brake drum and shear pin type couplings.
