SymphoniePRO Data Logger

An advanced, 26-channel data logging system, SymphoniePRO is purpose-built for the renewable energy professional.

As the newest data logger in the Symphonie series, SymphoniePRO brings significant upgrades in terms of capability and flexibility while building on the unparalleled foundation that is the Symphonie product linea series of application-specific and user-friendly data loggers.

System Overview

SymphoniePRO is a low-power, industrial-grade data logging system that is specifically designed for conducting resource assessments for the renewable energy industry. Each of the 26 channels statistical values are calculated from continuous 1-second data samples and averaged over a user-selectable interval (10-minute default). Collected data are stored efficiently as binary *.RLD files on internal Flash memory with a redundant copy on an external SD card, if installed.

Data are transferred and the system is powered via our existing Symphonie iPackGPS communications devices, which only require a firmware upgrade for compatibility with the new data logger. In addition to SMTP email data delivery, SymphoniePRO allows remote, real-time connection capability over our MetLink protocol for tasks like automated or manual data download, firmware upgrades, live data viewing, or configuration changes.

The SymphoniePRO Desktop Application is a modern and intuitive PC software package used to process raw data files as well as configure and communicate with the SymphoniePRO logger and iPack. SymphoniePRO Desktop Application keeps track of site data and produces versatile tab-delimited text files (ASCII) compatible with industry-leading software. Additionally, the software allows the user to view live data, apply firmware updates to loggers and iPacks, and preview data files in time series format.

Data Loggers

Data loggers are the core component of RNRGs complete system approach to wind and solar measurement applications. Data are collected from readings of meteorological sensors and other devices and then stored in our loggers for either manual retrieval or automated delivery to the location of your choice.

SymphoniePLUS3 Data Logger

SymphoniePLUS3 is a proven 15-channel data logger tailored for wind resource assessment.

Engineered to work seamlessly with our towers and sensors, SymphoniePLUS3 reliably collects and safely stores data in all weather conditions.

The innovative design of SymphoniePLUS3 allows you to log time-stamped data from up to 15 sensors. Six counter (anemometer) channels and two analog wind direction channels are built-in, while three flex channels and the remaining four analog channels allow for numerous sensor configuration options depending on the requirements of your particular measurement campaign.

Data is sampled every second, averaged and time-stamped every 10 minutes, and stored on anSD Card, 128MB. A real-time display and keypad are built into the logger to facilitate site visits. Stored data from the SymphoniePLUS3 can be routinely delivered anywhere in the world using the Symphonie iPackGPS communications and power supply module.

Our next generation data logger, theSymphoniePRO Data Logger, is available for renewable energy professionals requiring more advanced features and flexibility.

Note: A Symphonie iPackGPS provides the necessary 12V power source necessary for several RNRG sensors:

  • RH5X Relative Humidity Sensor
  • BP20 Barometric Pressure Sensor
  • Tipping Bucket Rain Gauge
  • RNRG 40H Anemometer

For sites where remote communication is not needed, use a Symphonie iPack Power Only.

    • WindSensor P2546-OPR Anemometer
    • Thies First Class Advanced Anemometer
    • RNRG Class 1 Anemometer
    • RNRG 40C Anemometer
    • The brand of your choice
  • Do not require SCM cards
Customizable Channels

Three flex channels:

  • Can be used as either analog or counter sensor inputs
  • Configure automatically based on theSymphonie SCM Cardinstalled
  • Allow for numerous sensor configuration options
Streamlined Data Collection

Advanced data logging:

  • Features one-second sampling (conforms to IEC 61400-12-1)
  • Averages data over a 10-minute period
  • Writes data to an SD card on an hourly basis
  • Includes Symphonie Data Retriever (SDR) software
Password Protected Access

Unauthorized user lockout prevents access to logger via the keypad.

Automated Data Transfer

SymphoniePLUS3 interfaces with your choice of Symphonie iPackGPS communications and power modules, which transfer data via third-party cellular or satellite services. When SymphoniePLUS3 is deployed with an iPackGPS, site visits to retrieve the SD card data become unnecessary; the data is automatically transferred through your assigned Internet Service Provider (ISP) via email. Additionally, SymphoniePLUS3 can be integrated into SCADA networks and deliver data over MODBUS protocol using the iPackACCESS communications module. All iPacks are designed to be "plug and play, requiring only minimal hardware configuration. Browse iPack options on theData Logger Accessoriespage.

Data Loggers

Data loggers are the core component of RNRGs complete system approach to wind and solar measurement applications. Data are collected from readings of meteorological sensors and other devices and then stored in our loggers for either manual retrieval or automated delivery to the location of your choice.
