Calcite is a calcium carbonate mineral (minerals containing CO3) that is usually white. It is one
of the most important minerals in the world and is extremely common. It can be found in the
three main types of rocks (sedimentary, metamorphic and igneous rocks) and, in the form of
marble or limestone, makes up much of the Earths crust. Calcite is one of the main minerals in
limestone, marble and shells of marine species. Interestingly, calcite has more practical uses than
most other minerals in the world. It has the same chemical formula as other types of calcium
carbonate, such as limestone, marble and chalk: CaCO3. It comes in bright white color and it has
nodular particle size with strong crystal structure.

China clay
Rocks that are rich in kaolinite are known as Kaoling, kaolin, Kalaba or china clay. China Clay falls under Kaolinite group of clays. It has the usual compositions of Al2O3, 2SiO2, 2H2O, Hydrous Aluminium Silicate. China Clay mining is a complicated process which can be split into three distinct sections opencast mining, refining and drying. China Clay occurs in the deposits of rock china clay, a mixture of up to 15 percent China Clay, and up to 10 per cent mica, and the remainder being quartz. The clay itself varies considerably from pit to pit. In some deposits, the clay is ideally suited for the filling and coating of paper, while in other deposits, other gradess China clay suits best. China clay has a low shrink-swell capacity and a low cation exchange capacity (1-15 meq/100g). It is a soft, earthy, usually white mineral (dioctahedral phyllosilicate clay), produced by the chemical weathering of aluminium silicate minerals like feldspar. China clay is available in the form of lumps and powder (Pure white colour, off white colour and calcined powder).
· Low shrink swell capacity at 1300C is about 12%
· Lowcation exchange capacity (1-15 meq/100g
· High luster, opacity, gloss
· High mechanical strength
· Dimensionally stable
· Improved electrical properties
· High extrusion properties
· Anti cracking
Applications:-
Paints :- It is used in various paints like distempers, cement primer, wood primer, texture paint, spray plaster, putties, fillers undercoats.
· China clay due to its lamellar structure imparts toughness to coatings and tends to reinforce the films.
· It settles slowly in water and having low solubility in water, it is commonly used in water based paints.
· Due to its low solubility in the aqueous phase and its ability to impart good brushing and leveling characteristics, it is mainly used in latex paints.
Adhesives Sealants
In adhesives sealants, china clay gives good barrier effects and rheology control. The controlling rheology influences the speed at which adhesive can be applied which is important in high speed paper laminating processes. The low surface hydroxyl content of calcined China clay leads to a low moisture pick-up, resulting in excellent performance in moisture sensitive sealant applications. Calcined clay is also effective as structure building components.
Plastic
It is used as a filler in combination with others to impart strength smoothness in plastic Industry for PE master batch; PE cables; PE film; PVC cables; PVC extrusions; PVC plastisols; PP moldings; polyamide moldings; PBT/PET moldings; unsaturated polyester; urea formaldehyde; phenol formaldehyde.
Ceramics
China Clay is also called KAOLINE, it is one of the essential Raw materials for ceramic Industries. China Clay does not swell on adding water Alumina present in Clay do not form
Isomorphous series with any other metallic compound. It is naturally hydrated Aluminum Silicate and is one of the most abundantly available clay in the Earth's crust. China Clay is the heart of potteries, tiles, ceramics, Glazes and many other industries.
Glass
The China Clay can be effectively used in manufacturing of fiber glass because of its high alumina content.
Paper
It is used in variety of papers, cardboards, hard boards and others.
Rubber
Grit free china clay having low bulk density, possessing reinforcing properties, is used as filler and to improve tensile, flexural modules make a significant increase.
Electrical Industry
It is used for Electrical insulation, High voltage insulation components, electrical wires, EPDN rubber and others.
Cosmetics Soap
China Clay is used in toothpaste, cosmetics and soap industry.
Other uses
China clay is used in white cement, Refractory bricks and in port, it acts as fog removing agent, dust collecting agent on road and fireproof agent of textile.

Quartz (Silica SiO2) is the most common mineral in the Earths crust. Quartz is found in
sandstones, pegmatites granites, and other igneous rocks. It forms veins in the cracks of rocks.
There is a lot of heat and water where they form. Crystals are made when the quartz cools down.
The way the crystal looks depends on how hot it was when it was formed. It can be found in
layers or geodes, too. Geodes are hollow rocks that are lined with crystals. It has a hexagonal
crystal structure and is made of trigonal crystallized silica. It is most varied in terms of varieties,
colors and forms. Of all the minerals, quartz is closest to a pure chemical compound and has
constant physical properties.
It is hard, chemically inert and has a high melting point, attributable to the strength of the bonds
between the atoms and extremely resistant to weathering. These are prized qualities in
applications like foundries and filtration systems. Quartz may be transparent to translucent and
has a vitreous luster, hence it is used in glass and ceramics. Quartzs strength, silicon dioxide
contribution and non-reactive properties make it an indispensable ingredient in the production of
thousands of everyday products.
We supply Quartz in Lumps, grits/Sands and powder forms for various industrial
applications:-
Quartz sand/grains in Glass Industry:-
Quartz is commonly known as silica sand for producing float glass, fiber glass, automotive glass,
clear container glass, Borosil glass and other types. We produce quartz powder for high purity
glass having extremely low levels of contaminating metal oxides, and other foreign particles with
the help of heavy magnetic separators used in mesh 25 to 32 or in mm size 0.1mm-0.3mm,
0.3mm - 1.2mm, 0.5mm-0.1mm, 1.2mm - 0.3mm.
Fused Quartz (Silica glass), vitreous silica glass: silica (SiO2) is used for very special
applications and has very low thermal expansion, is very hard and resists high temperatures
(1000 1500 C). It is also the most resistant against weathering (alkali ions leaching out of the
glass, while staining it). It is used for high temperature applications such as furnace tubes,
melting crucibles, Flat glass, Automotive Glass Hollow Glass (e.g. Thermal expansion, hardness,
specific gravity).

Silica Sand
Silicon and oxygen are the earth's two most abundant elements and together they make silica,
one of the earth's three most common rock forming minerals.
Silica occurs in three main crystalline forms. The principal occurrence is as the mineral quartz
but it also occurs in other rarer mineral forms known as tridymite and cristobalite. It is a very
durable mineral resistant to heat and chemical attack and it is these properties that have made it
industrially interesting to man.
The first industrial uses of crystalline silica were probably related to metallurgical and glass
making activities a few thousand years BC. It has continued to support human development
throughout history, being a key raw material in the industrial revolution especially in the glass,
foundry and ceramics industries. Silica contributes to today's information technology revolution
being used in the plastics of computer mouses and providing the raw material for silicon chips.
For industrial use, pure deposits of silica sand capable of yielding products of at least 95% silica
are required. Often much higher purity values are needed.
Uses of Silica Sand
The main end uses of silica sand are:
Glass
Silica is the major ingredient in virtually all types of glass. The principal glass products include
containers (bottles and jars), flat glass (windows, mirrors, vehicle glazing etc.), lighting glass
(light bulbs, fluorescent tubes, etc.), tableware (lead crystal, drinking glasses etc.), TV tubes and
screens, decorative glass, fibreglass, optical glass and vacuum flasks.
Foundry casting
Silica has a high melting point, 1610 degrees C. This enables castings to be produced by pouring
molten metal into moulds made out of silica sand.
Ceramics
Silica that has been ground to fine size is an ingredient of most clay bodies and is a major
constituent of ceramic glazes. Typical everyday products include tableware, sanitary ware,
ornaments and wall and floor tiles.
Filtration
Closely sized grades of silica sand is the principal filtration medium used by the water industry
to extract solids from wastewater.
Specialist building applications
The construction industry is founded on silica and there are a host of specialist applications
including silica and aerated concrete blocks, floor and roof tiles, flooring and rendering
compounds, white line markings, roofing felt and cement and resin injection systems.
Sports and leisure
Silica sand is used for equestrian surfaces, in artificial turf, golf course root zones and dressings,
football and cricket and other pitches and as play sands.
Other users
Silica has many other applications including the manufacture of chemicals and metals, fillers in
numerous products, plastic and otherwise, the manufacture of refractories, stimulating oil
production and as additives in agricultural and horticultural products. It is difficult to imagine a
life without silica!
Production of silica sand
High grade silica sand is usually found as unconsolidated deposits below thin layers of soil and
overburden. After quarrying, the sand often undergoes considerable processing before sale. The
processing may include washing and cleaning of the grains, sizing to remove coarse and very
fine fractions, and physical and chemical processes to remove iron, chromium and other
deleterious minerals. After processing, the sand may be dried and some applications require it to
be ground in ball mills to produce very fine material
