The wet air entering the Dryer first comes into contact with the ceramic element of the Pre-Filter. Here the ceramic element retains on its surface solid impurities up to 5 microns and water droplets as well as piping dust & rust. The auto drain trap removes the condensate from the chamber. This filtered air then passes to the air drying plant. It is an automatic cycle of airflow through two desiccant beds, while one bed under adsorption the other one is under regeneration. The saturated filtered air enters the 3-way diaphragm control valve and is directed to the bottom portion of the tower for adsorption (Tower-I). The tower is packed with desiccant. The desiccant adsorbs moisture from the up going stream of air, which when reaches the top of the tower is already dry, leaves from the top of the tower and passes through the non-return Valve and enters the after Filter. The After Filter alike the Pre-Filter has ceramic element (candle) which prevents the desiccant dust carry-over into the system. For reactivation in the Tower-II hot air is required for which there is a motorized blower in the starting of the reactivation cycle, the motorized blower starts by which atmospheric air is sucked and directed towards the heater. After passing through the heater, this air which is just above atmospheric pressure gets heated up and is directed to the top portion of the Tower-II for reactivation. Alike the Tower-I, Tower-II is packed with desiccant. This hot air has a high capacity to carry moisture and thus will lead the moisture from the desiccant bed to the bottom portion of the tower and will be purged to atmosphere through the 2-way diaphragm control Valve. Normally if it is an 8 hours reactivation time, 5 hours heating will take place, thereafter, heater shall switch off and cooling of the desiccant will take place. Re pressurization and de pressurization takes for a few seconds before and after reactivation to eliminate fluidization. 3-way diaphragm control valve is provided at the wet airline for both the towers. It is provided to control the direction of airflow from one tower to another after fix intervals. A solenoid valve is provided on the diaphragm control valve to actuate the diaphragm resulting in the changeover. Dry air is used through the solenoid valve and diaphragm for actuating (this valve has one inlet and two outlets). 2-way diaphragm control valve is similar to the 3-way diaphragm control valve. This valve has one inlet and one outlet. Solenoid valve is also provided on this valve for the above-mentioned function. The timing of operation of this system is controlled by solenoid valve provided on the three ways diaphragm control valve which in turn is controlled through the timer in the control panel.

The wet air entering the dryer first comes in contact with the ceramic element of the Pre-Filter.Here solid impurity up to 5 microns and water droplets are effectively removed. Now, saturated wet air (free of contaminants) enters the distribution box which splits the air stream and diverts it partly to the heater for heating and partly for adsorption. The stream going for adsorption enters via the top four-way valve to the Adsorber tower, which is packed with desiccant. This Desiccant has a high surface area to porosity, which enables to hold large quantities of moisture from the compressed air. It also possesses the property of giving up this moisture on heating. Dry air leaving Adsorber from the bottom via the four-way valve enters the After Filter. The After Filter alike the Pre Filter has ceramic elements which prevents the desiccant dust carry-over into the system. Going back to the distributor box, the second stream leaving the distributor passes through the heater where it is heated to the reactivation temperature of 180 Deg C. This hot air leaving the heater passes through the tower to be reactivated via top four-way valve. On its way through the tower, it carries the moisture adsorbed by the Desiccant (in the previous cycle) and leaves the tower via the bottom four-way valve. Now, this wet air enters into the Reactivation cooler where it gets cooled to 40 Deg C and the moisture in the air condenses which is removed by the Moisture separator. This air stream again joins by the main stream through the distributor. Hence, in this process, there is no loss of compressed air. The change over of the Adsorber tower is accomplished by a linkage mechanism connecting the two four way valve shanks. A double acting pneumatic cylinder actuates this linkage. The timing of operation of this cylinder is controlled by a four-way solenoid valve, which in turn is controlled by the timer in the control panel. The air actuating the solenoid valve is first lubricated in an oil lubricator before entering the pneumatic cylinder. The air used for this purpose is dry air and is tapped from the after filter. Two limit switches control the travel of the linkage mechanism.

The Refrigerated type of Air Dryer can achieve an Atmospheric Dew point of (-) 230C The Refrigerated type of air dryer works on Refrigeration principle. When the temperature of air is reduced the moisture gets condensed and then it will be separated. Working of dryer consists of two main cycles. One is Air cycle and the second is Vapour Compression Refrigeration Cycle In the first cycle the wet inlet air with temperature 45-50oC enters the pre-cooler where it gets cooled by the outgoing dry air. The temperature of outgoing dry air rises due to transfer of heat with inlet air. The temperature of wet air is reduced to 27-30oC and then it enters the evaporator. In evaporator the air will be cooled up to 3-5oC by vapour compression Refrigeration cycle, after that air enters in to moisture separator where moisture is removed from condensed air. The dry air goes to the pre-cooler before going out from the dryer. There is option for the condenser in vapour compression cycle, i.e. Water Cooled Condenser OR Air Cooled Condenser. How does it work?Refrigeration Dryers operate on the method of cooling the air to near freezing point to remove the moisture and reheating it to approximately 10oC below the incoming compressed air temperature at nominal conditions. The Dryer consists of an air drying unit with cyclone type condensate separator and a refrigeration circuit.The Refrigeration circuit consists mainly of a compressor, a condenser, a receiver with liquid refrigerant and an evaporator. The air drying unit consists of two kinds of heat exchangers, one or more air to air heat exchangers and one or more refrigerant to air heat exchangers.

Desiccant Dryer

We are counted among well-reckoned Manufacturers and Supplier of Desiccant Dryer. Desiccant Dryer, offered by us, is fabricated with great perfection using top grade components. Desiccant Dryer is known for its high performance and low maintenance. Moreover, the Desiccant Dryer is tested stringently on various quality parameters. Silent Features :
  • Constant Atmospheric Dew Point of ()40oC
  • Minimum loss of purged air
  • Long life desiccant which gives desired dew point
  • Easy to Operate or Troubleshoot
  • Designed as per ASME Sec VIII Div 1
  • Low Maintenance cost
  • Low Power Consumption
The wet air with inlet temperature of 40oC enters the pre Filter. Pre-Filter is necessary prior to the dryer, as it removes oil and other contaminants. This actually protects the Desiccant from deteriorating, thus increasing the life of desiccant. The pre-filtered air then enters the adsorption tower through a 3-way diaphragm control valve. As the air flows through the tower the moisture is adsorbed from the wet air. This dry air then passes through the After-Filter, which removes any desiccant dust carry over. Meanwhile the other Adsorber tower is undergoing regeneration, with a part of dry air coming out of the tower under adsorption. This air is then purged out through muffler. The atmospheric dew point achieved is around (-) 40oC. How does it work?Rust and pipe scale deposits in steel pipes, increased resistance to flow, malfunctioning of pressure control equipment, corrosion in electromagnetic valves, solidification of media in pneumatic conveying systems, bubbling or orange peel effect in paint spraying are all consequences of water in the compressed air system. It not only endangers your delivery dates but quickly soaks up profits. Air drawn into the compressor will, depending upon the relative humidity, contain 60% to 80% of water vapour. Under compression, some of this converts to water and can be removed by line filters. However, as the temperature drops, water vapour will re-appear as condensation. Water vapour can only be economically removed by two methods : one is by cooling the air; the other more efficient method is by adsorption. The Puriflair range comprises of both Refrigeration Dryers and adsorption dryers. Refrigeration Dryers are used for application requiring air with pressure dewpoints to +2oC. Adsorption dryers provide a much lower pressure dewpoint, from -20oC to -40oC, at a relative compressed air humidity of only 0.1%. These are available as Heatless, Heat regenerated (Reduced Purge Air), Heatregenerated and Energyless;
