Torquemeters Limited has specialized in providing accurate and reliable instrumentation of this type for many years and has earned itself considerable repute over the years.
Testing diverse systems has always presented significant opportunities for Torquemeters Limited and their experience and background in this area is extensive. The need for testing is increasing significantly and more and more organizations require accurate and repeatable test facilities. In some cases manufacturers use electric motor drives for testing but many of these systems require the use of step up gearboxes. When the errors caused by gearboxes are combined with the uncertainties caused by poor power factor compensation of the electric motor the accuracy improvements that we can offer are valuable in a competitive manner.
Torquetronic torquemeters also have some relatively advanced features that have been developed in conjunction with companies such as Rolls Royce and their experience in providing them with test systems for more than 40 years.
It has also been noted that all torque measuring systems change zero at high speeds due to the influence of centripetal forces. Why We Need Torquemeter
We manufacture a range of extremely accurate torquemeters that are supplied with torsion shafts that are rated to the suit the individual application. This capability further enhances accuracy, as the customer does not need to buy a standard rating that is invariably higher than is required.
The ET (Electronic Torquemeter) range of transducers have interchangeable torsion shafts. This means that a single torquemeter can be adapted to suit a wide range of products and maintain accuracy.
Our competitors would have to supply several torquemeters or compromise accuracy. Changing torsion shafts is likely to be more convenient than changing torquemeter, as the basic test rig layout would not need to be changed. The price of a single torquemeter with several torsion shafts is usually more cost effective than the purchase of several torquemeters of different ratings. We should also bear in mind that unlike many strain gauge devices our electronic readouts are not dedicated to individual transducers and this can provide a further cost saving. Gap bed machines are available for bigger diameter jobs. This type of machines are also used for high speed applications due to safety factor etc.

Belt Drive Machines:Belt drives are used for balancing of rotors where high accuracy is desired and errors due to the drive unit cannot be tolerated and which eliminates the need of adaptors. However, it is ideally suited for cylindrical rotors where it easy to run the belt as in case of armatures/printing rolls etc. This type of drive also reduces loading/unloading time etc. With AC frequency drive available now, infinitely variable balancing speeds are possible with type of drive.

Vertical Balancing Machine:These types of machines are ideally suited for mass production of disc shaped rotors like fan blades, impellers, pulleys, clutch plates etc. The correction unit like drilling/milling unit etc can be mounted on the machine and are supplied as an option. MACHINE CONFIGURATION AND APPLICATIONS

Horizontal Balancing Machines:
Proteq offers a large range of horizontal machines with end drive/belt drive and self drive machines for a variety of applications.

End Drives Machines:These type of machines are ideally suited for jobs with high interia and where high power is consumed due to air resistance etc. The weight of rotors which can be balanced is limited by acceleration capacity of drive unit and speeds available on the balancing machine. Gap bed machines are available for bigger diameter jobs. This type of machines are also used for high speed applications due to safety factor etc.

Belt Drive Machines:Belt drives are used for balancing of rotors where high accuracy is desired and errors due to the drive unit cannot be tolerated and which eliminates the need of adaptors. However, it is ideally suited for cylindrical rotors where it easy to run the belt as in case of armatures/printing rolls etc. This type of drive also reduces loading/unloading time etc. With AC frequency drive available now, infinitely variable balancing speeds are possible with type of drive.

Vertical Balancing Machine:These types of machines are ideally suited for mass production of disc shaped rotors like fan blades, impellers, pulleys, clutch plates etc. The correction unit like drilling/milling unit etc can be mounted on the machine and are supplied as an option. Easy and quick top loading as the rotor to be balanced is simply placed on the machine. The clamping is easy and accurate. Safety device can be easily mounted on the machine. The operation of the machine is simple.

The angular disc provided on the machine spindle helps you to easily locate the unbalance angle. Electronic remount error compensation is possible to reduce the fitting errors etc.

Self Drives:This type of drive is used for balancing of rotors in its own drives like motor with fan/complete radiator fan assembly etc. This has got a advantage as the component is balanced at its operating speed and in its actual operating conditions. You also achieve better balancing accuracy with this type of drive provided your rotor is running smoothly in its assembled condition. Some times the manufacturers also demand for balancing the components to be balanced in actual operating conditions.

High Speed Balancing Machines:This types of machines are used for balancing and over speed testing of flexible and rigid rotors etc.

Drive :This depends upon interia of the rotors and the balancing speeds. For belt drive normally, AC squirrel cage motor with different size pullies is used for running the rotors and for end drives AC squirrel cage motor with gear box is used. How ever, in case you require infinitely variable speeds, AC frequency drive is used.
