China Clay is a naturally hydrated Aluminium Silicate. With the chemical composition Al2Si2O5 (OH)4. It is a layered silicate, with one tetrahedral sheet linked through oxygen atoms to one octahedral sheet of alumina octahedral. It has a low shrink-swell capacity and a low cation exchange capacity. Therefore China Clay does not swell on adding water & Alumina present in Clay do not form Isomorphous series with any other metallic compound. The Micronized China Clay Powder can withstand high temperature and also increases the strength of the material in which it is mixed.
